WDW pulls free dining offer for 2025

Actually I just went a red the details for the water park perk and you are wrong. They can apparently cancel the perk completely and no refund or credit will be given.
The perk is included with your reservation whether you use it or not. No one should expect a credit or refund if the waterpark unexpectedly shuts down.

Most people are not taking advantage of it. Again, you think Disney should just be able to pull an offer like that too?
Why not? We all know that perks don't last forever. If the free water park is something we want, then now may be a good time to visit Disney. If not, then it doesn't affect us at all.

All they had to do was state that somewhere on this advertisement. That’s it. Just state it’s limited and may not remain open the whole year. It’s not asking much tbh, just some critically important language in their advertisements.
https://disneyparksblog.com/wdw/disney-world-announces-new-family-deals-for-summer-2025/

They gave you a link to learn more about each offer. You chose to ignore and therefore became unaware of the restrictions and limitations. You chose to believe that since you didn't immediately see the word limited then it must be unlimited.

because a lot of people don’t want to go to the water park I guess. It’s a certain age range of kids that like water parks. People with young children won’t find as much fun with the water parks as people with older kids.

Disney could just completely cancel the perk for the remainder of 2025 and 2026. Then what do you say. They within their right?

No one said it was unlimited, there is limited capacity of rooms. Just like if the water park gets to capacity then you can’t enter even if you got that park. Same concept. I chose to read the advertisement and knowing that in the past they gave a fixed timeframe to buy and this time they didn’t, plus with no limited language I took it at face value. They didn’t even hyperlink provide a hyperlink to the specific deal on the website. They put a general link somewhere else……. So how is someone even suppose to know it was a removed promotion? If they go to the Disney special offer page it’s not even there……

It’s just trashy business practices but Disney has a substantial group of followers who believe nothing Disney does could be wrong.

None of the offers had a hyperlink
Go back and read the blog posts you shared above. As I stated in post #15 they did in fact have a hyperlink to DisneyWorld.com/offers "for more details."

And they normally give the precise time frames it is available as your stated.
They would fill up rooms but never just Willy nilly start and stop promos randomly while still having capacity without warning.
You are correct that they did used to give a timeframe for booking an offer. However the availability often was nil long before that deadline. Now they simply remove the offer once it is booked up. It saves both CMs and the public a lot of wasted time searching for a room that is gone.

Again this was not for a room, but for a free dining plan that most rooms will not take advantage of. I viewed it similar to how the free water park on first day is used. It’s something you can get if a room is available. If they randomly ended the free water park perk on first day people would be pissed!
The "free waterpark day" has in fact been unavailable to some folks this year. For various reasons -- the guest didn't arrive until evening, the weather was bad and the waterpark was closed, the parking lot was full and guests driving themselves were turned away. Have people been disappointed? Yes.

Disney park blogs is an official Disney website and yes I and many others get their information from there. Not everyone follows every single factoid of Disney and make it our entire life. We read that and then discuss with family and decide what to do. If nothing alerts us that it’s limited or there’s a deadline we have no reason to think there is one.
There's no reason to think the relatively short blog post contains all details. Now you know. The blog post is intended to drive traffic to the website.

It’s Disney’s fault for poor advertising.
Fault? Why is it Disney's "fault" that you missed out on a promotion? No, sorry, any "fault" lies with the potential guest who didn't seek out full details and delayed booking. Take responsibility for yourself and your own (in)actions. It's OK to be disappointed the promo ended and you missed it; it's not right to double-down and blame the business.

Weren't you just at WDW this spring? You should have taken advantage of a bounce back offer. Or there are still "up to 30%" room offers available for 2025 dates. The "free dining" for kids is still available for all 2026 bookings.

But not to that specific offer. I thought that was the offer because it was their advertisement on their website. I didn’t think there was much more to it and there was no link to that one directly. If I go to their website now they did link it’s not listed just adding to the confusion.

This deal is still popping up on Google and it’s still listed on the blog Disney. Apparently it was limited, but that should have been said, it only takes a few words to say that and not everyone knows every single unwritten policy about Disney. I just know that for the room discounts I’ve booked day before in the past.

all the instances you are stating are like when the hotel rooms are all filled. This situation isn’t like that situation as the hotel rooms are still available. This situation is different.

It’s their blog and customers should not have to do a deep dive of every little thing to fact check. They should be truthful in advertising and provide these clearly relevant facts. It seems to have surprised many Disney commentators as you can see on a google search

if you read my comment, I was referring to the blog post/advertisement put forth by Disney. This whole issue could have been avoided if Disney provided the simple language that it is limited, that’s what they did when they offered the annual passes again in 2023 and in other situations. If Disney is going to advertise items they have an ethical and I would say legal duty to be truthful and provide these clearly relevant facts such as its limited. The promo was for dates covering approximately 6 months first starting about 2 months away. It’s not like this time frame was only covering a 2 month time frame. That points in the direction that this was a long lasting promo not one that will be randomly pulled. Again all they had to say was “limited availability” or even better give a specific time frame like they did for the other free dining deal they offered end of 2024 and posted about on Disneys official blog

Yes, I probably should have, but the dates I wanted were not covered by it, but for the dining plan they were. The free dining for kids isn’t all that great because the price of dinning of kids is roughly a third of the price for adults/kids 10 and up.
You are right about the 2026 bookings but they didn’t realize all the 2026 dates yet. We are limited to when kids are out of school as we don’t think they should miss school for Disney since they only have school half the days of the year.

All you want to do is argue. You never actually want "discussion." We all make mistakes and yours was relying on a newsy blog item posted 2 months ago without checking details. Go forward and learn from that instead of focusing all the negative energy on arguing about what's done. All the arguing in the world is not going to get Disney to re-open the free dining offer.

All I want is for Disney to not provide misleading advertisements. We shouldn’t have to go and do a deep dive over every offer they advertise. They should include the relevant language

I think the kind of assistance you prefer might be best met by a travel agent. They could help you decide whether booking now or booking later (with risks) is right for you.

All you want is for Disney to write a customized version catered to people like you, and essentially forcing the rest of us to read many more paragraphs of unnecessary disclosures.

All it has to say was “supplies limited” or “limited time offer” or provide an end date. That isn’t “paragraphs of unnecessary disclosures.”

The vast majority of people don’t know all the in’s and out’s of Disney. Disney should be catering to us too, not just to people who already know everything about Disney or at least think they do.

Maybe do some research into "advertisements." A blog is not an advertisement it's considered "owned content."
As per a Florida statute: “(a) “Advertisement” means any representation disseminated in any manner or by any means, other than by a label, for the purpose of inducing, or which is reasonably likely to induce, directly or indirectly, a purchase.” (https://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statute...ng=&URL=0800-0899/0817/Sections/0817.417.html)

The official Disney blog post meets that definition obviously and is thus an advertisement. The whole point of the blog post is to induce people to make a purchase and in my case it actually worked!
So yea it is obviously an advertisement.

Is this what you do at your law office? Bombarding your clients with roundabout information to hide the fact that you didn't do your due diligence read properly?

I was just doing what @lanejudy in the post stating: “Maybe do some research into "advertisements."” The research showed that the official Disney blog post was in fact an advertisement……..

Once again I did read properly, the information just was literally not in the advertisement. To date three of those four offers listed are still available………

“Support an agenda” the only agenda is for Disney to be truthful in advertising and not misleading or not including relevant details in its advertisements.
