Which was your FIRST Disney restaurant?

Tangaroa Terrace at the Polynesian.

:surfweb:

Oh!!! We loved Tangora Terrace. Remember when they had those big strawberry shortckes? Yummy. The Polynesian was our first ever Disney resort and it's memories like these that still hold it special in my heart.:cloud9:

The first I CAN REMEMBER.... was a character breakfast called the Empress Lily and it was in DTD. It was so much fun!!!! I was about 4 or 5. That was my 3rd trip to Disney, so the ones before I can't remember! I also remember going to the buffet at Fort Wilderness..I think it's still there, next to Hoop Dee Doo. It was YUMMY!!!!

It's very difficult to remember, since we have been going to WDW for many years and have eaten at so many restaurants multiple times. I do remember enjoying King Stefan's Banquet Hall our first trip- before Cinderella kicked him out and it became a character meal. Coral Reef was also a favorite many years ago during our first few trips. Columbia Harbor House and El Pirate y El Perico were also favorites on our first trip many years ago. I won't even mention Disneyland, since DW and I both grew up 40 miles from it and have been there way too many times to count. I do remember "Casa de Fritos" and Plaza Pavillion (the best fried chicken) when I was a kid.

CS Electric Umbrella in Epcot. TS was Chef Mickey at DTD it was so good. And I think might have eaten at the Odyssey at Epcot on that trip also.

Went to Crystal Palace cause we love Poo & friends! We originally had ADR's for 7:30 just in case the flight was delayed. Since we got there earlier before 6 p.m. we asked to be seated earlier and got right in! **sigh** What a magical time that was...we could see Cinderellabration going on at the castle! :wizard:

Our first meal at WDW was eaten somewhere at AK. I think it was either Pizzafari or Tusker House. Later that night we had dinner at Chef Mickey's for our first sit down. That one I am sure about!

The first CS was Cosmic Rays at MK. Lots of good choices and student choirs were singing, which was nice to listen to.

The first TS was WCC. What a hoot! I have a picture of my dh dancing like a daisy, which is priceless.

OMG me too exactly :rotfl2: except for the student choirs singing:lmao:

If the Crystal Palace was there in 1975 then it was there. If not it was the Crystal Palace in 1982. I remember the porch and the fans and the scroll work from when I was younger.

This is really hard... I think the first table service is Crystal Palace with my parents when I was 12??

My first trip was when I was 12 in '94. I believe our first CS was our first night in Epcot--Yakitori House. My father had wanted us to eat before we got to the park (we were staying offsite) at a fast food place since it'd be cheaper. My mom thought it would be nice to be adventurous and eat in Disney. I'm not sure how/why we ended up at Yakitori House. My dad and my brother are completely unadventurous eaters and at that time my mom and I weren't much better. I think we all got the chicken terryaki and no one liked it very much. My dad was kind of grumpy about it and insisted we'd just stick to burgers from then on.

That same trip we did our first TS--'50s Prime Time Cafe. My mom had heard about the theming and how the servers get into their roles and thought we should try it despite the high price (given our budget at that time). My dad agreed but wasn't that happy about it. Well it turned out pretty badly. My brother (who was 8 and pretty bratty) somehow kept ticking my dad off. While we were waiting for a table my dad was sitting on a chair near my brother was acting up; my dad was trying not to yell at him in the public place and was telling him through clenched teeth that he'd better knock it off. My brother kicked my dad and pushed very hard with his foot which knocked my dad off his chair and onto the floor. It could have been funny--but the smoke fuming out of my dad's ears indicated that it wasn't. He ended up walking out of the restaurant because he was so mad, and he didn't want to make a scene by screaming bloody murder at my brother in the middle of the restaurant. Eventually when we got a table, he came back in. The food was mediocre and expensive and the server's attempts to tease us only made my dad more irritated. So that was the only TS we tried that trip. It was burgers, burgers, and toppings bars for us the entire rest of the time!

I cant remember from my trips as a kid, but I do know we went to the Luau, so that would have to be my only thought. I also remember going to Alfredos when I was 14(my 3rd trip).

The first meal that I vividly remember, from my first trip as an adult, our honeymoon, was lunch at the Coral Isle Cafe (now Kona Cafe). DH and I had arrived at the Poly, dropped out luggage off in our room and went right to MK. We got caught in a huge downpour and returned to the Poly to change. We then walked in to Coral Isle for lunch.

Our first TS as a family was 'Ohana's and CS was Columbia Harbour House. We still love 'Ohana's but we try new ones each time we go.

I remember eating at what I think was the California Grill in 1980 (I was seven). I don't know what it was called then. But I remember drinking a Shirley Temple and seeing the Electric Water Pageant from the restaurant. As an adult my first Disney TS was 50s Prime Time.

Keep in mind, my first visit to WDW (not for lack of trying!!) was in '99 on my honeymoon.

Our first eating experience? Cosmic rays for lunch at MK that first day.

Our first TS? Victoria and Albert's (how's that for setting high expectations, eh?).

Our first restaurant experience was Hoop Dee Doo. My kids were 4, 8, and 9.

I don't remember much about the meal, but the show was terrific. We are planning our 4th trip since then, and we were just talking about how that first trip (as a family) was the best.

CS-I think Cosmic Rays in MK- Is there a character playing a piano there?
TS-California Grill

Our first was dinner at Ohanas! We made it a tradition that we go there on the first night of every trip!
