Which was your FIRST Disney restaurant?

First CS - two large pizzas from the All Star Sports food court, and four refillable mugs. I still remember DH's face when I said I needed about $65 to pay for it (he didn't know about the refillable mug thing! LOL!

First breakfast - Main Street Bakery. My brother was with us and pitched a fit because he wanted bacon and eggs, and all they had was muffins, etc.

First TS - 'Ohana for our New Year's Eve dinner 1999. Welcoming in the year 2000. I planned that trip in 1994! I wanted my kids to be able to tell their grandkids where they were when 2000 was "born".

One of my firsts was Cosmic Ray's... we'd eat there EVERY trip.

My first TS was Narcoossee's when DH & I went on our honeymoon. I loved it. My parents were never the sitdown type, so we always ate CS meals. Now that I'm a mommy and we're taking trips, I'm making sure to be a TS family because of the great Disney restraurants.

Bonfamille's at Port Orleans (when it was just Port Orleans) on our honeymoon in 1991. I remember some alligator sausage appetizer, but not much else.

Crystal Palace back in May 2004. Also my first time at WDW and Magic Kindgom!!!

I remember going to a restaurant my very first trip to WDW back in 1982 or 1983 (I was about 9) and we stayed at the Poly. There was a character breakfast there at the Poly with Dopey, Pluto, Mickey, and Minnie (I believe)...Just can't remember the name of the restaurant. Sorry, my memory is kind of fuzzy.

Our first trip waay back in 1978 is very fuzzy, but I'm sure it was all counter service.

Our next trip in 1983 or 84 we had the most wonderful buffet Character breakfast at the Poly! It was not in the main lobby but outside at the Tangoroa Terrace. Really good memories.

our first ts was WCC and it was great i did not tell my wife what went on there and she had a great time

I love these trips down memory lane.

WDW was brand new, there were only the Contemporary and the Poly and the Magic Kingdom. I'm not sure if the Golf Resort was open, or if there was just a clubhouse there.

Anyway - I distictly remember that Adventureland Verandah was our first meal. (And "Flight to the Moon" was our first attraction.)

First sit down meal? King Stefan's Banquet Hall. Why Sleeping Beauty's dad had a restaurant in Cinderella Castle is an oft-asked question. As a smart-alec teenager at the time, I asked our server. I don't remember her explanation, but she had one.

Our first meal as newlyweds, some years later, was at the Gulf Coast Room in the Contemporary.

All these places are closed or renamed. Is there a trend here?

My first counter service was a Turkey Leg Stand in Frontierland :rotfl:

The other rest of the families first counter service was Columbia Harbour House. (Which would be mine as well if not for the Turkey Leg :rotfl: )

Our first table service was Crystal Palace...mmm :cloud9:

First TS was a late lunch at Restaurant Marrakesh. What a great experience--good food and a fun atmosphere!

First CS was ABC Commissary at the Studios. Many have lukewarm opinions of it, but it's a family favorite of ours.

1996
Wilderness Lodge
Artists Point Character Breakfast.

The food was fine but nothing great. The characters were Goofy and Pluto. I didn't think the restaurant was that spectacular looking (It is really nice after dark tough!). We had a Great view of the courtyard, waterfall, geyser and lake.

I don't remember if it was the first, but I do remember that as a child I couldn't wait until we got to the Magic Kingdom and went right down Main Street to Casey's. I loved those hot dogs!

The trips from the 70's & 80's were counter service. But last year our first TS was Boma. This was our first disney trip together and going to Animal Kingdom Lodge on our first night was amazing.

Definitely a memory for us.

No idea. My earliest memories of WDW food is 1900 Park Fair...breakfast with Chip and Dale...during my third trip to Disney (circa 1989).

My first TS was Liberty Tree Tavern and CS was Pecos Bill (back when they had that really good chocolate pie). We still eat at both places every time we go.

Alfredo de Roma in Italy.
We were so hungry and hot - and we loved it.
Next time we went back and were disappointed, but I think that was because we so enjoyed the first experience!

Tangaroa Terrace at the Polynesian.

:surfweb:

I can't remember what the first counter service was, but first TS was the Empress Lily for a character breakfast, I was 10!

I remember eating at Biergarten when I was a child, on a family vacation to Disney World.

But I have fonder memories of rediscovering WDW as an adult, on a girls-only trip about six years ago. Our first restaurant was Akershus (pre-Princess), and it was so wonderful! We were seated next to an older couple who were just laughing at how much we were enjoying the food. We ended up chatting with them briefly, and that was our initiation into the food culture at WDW!
