My husband and I will be at Disney the first week of Dec. 2010. We are considering one of the Value resorts. Does anyone have experience staying and if so which would be best for adults.

Thanks for your help

We like All Star Movies, but we have a 4yr old who likes the themes they have set up. For 2 Adults I would say the Music Resort would have the least small childern staying there. I think the choices with kids are Movies, Pop Century, Sports Then Music. We will be at Movies Dec 5-11.

I did a solo at Pop and loved it. I think it might be a fun one for adults, because each of the sections themes will bring back memories of things you grew up with. I had fun looking at the displays in the lobby from each decade to see what I recognized.

For me, the 4 values are 95% the same.

So would you rather see a giant bowling pin (POP), a giant Football (Sports), a giant VW Bug (Movies), or a giant guitar (Music)?

That said, I think POP has the buildings laid out in the best order. It's also a bit more centrally located.

The refurbed rooms at Sports were nice - that curved shower bar really makes a difference!

Next time I stay at a value, I plan to go with Music since I've never stayed there before. But if it wasn't available, I would not be disappointed in any way.

I would skip the value and go to a moderate where you can get a guaranteed king bed and a much more relaxed theme. . .less in your face. . .

If you are just looking for an inexpensive place to sleep with the Disney themeing, then I would choose Pop or All Star Music. Pop has some crazy icons that will bring back great memories. Music is the quietest of the three All Stars. . .I have been to mods and these two Values. . .These would be my choice.

We have stayed at both pop century and all star music. No question we liked all star music better. Its much quieter and has beautiful landscaping. I love pops food court and gift shop but music is a good couples resort.

Check the POP warner schedule and see where the little darlings are scheduled to stay, then book as far away as possible.

POP would be my only Value choice - nice food court, dedicated busses, and great resort overall. Request a room overlooking the water back side of the buildings and away from the Pools are the quietest.

DH and I prefer Movies and Music. If you can afford to upgrade, POFQ and POR are both good for couples.

After staying at all the value resorts on adult-only trips, my vote is for ASMu. It has always been the quietest, especially in the Broadway section. Second vote would be for Pop Century.

Thanks everyone, for the suggestions. We have stayed on 192 and at the Caribbean Beach Resort, a couple of times. We are considering a couple of days early in Dec. on the way to FLL for a cruise. So we would like to keep the cost of the room as low as possible and still be on property. If I come up with a code, we'll go for a Moderate resort, which I think I would prefer. Otherwise will go for one of the 2 suggestions.

Another question, would you choose another moderate resort over CBR and if so, why. Thanks again :goodvibes

Pop Century for the first week in December. Not so much Pop Warner.

CSR over CBR. Queen beds...'nuff said.

Thanks Mindy. Last Jan we got a great deal at CBR King bed for $89. per night:cheer2: Now that would make me very happy!

I agree 100% - as you can tell from my signature!

another vote for pop century, mostly due to the bus's tending to be better then allstar resorts. tho ive stayed at a few of the other resorts over the last few years, my view is that im really only at the hotel to shower n sleep which is why i tend to stick to the values mostly during the slower times of the year. and if u want some peace n quiet, you might not wanna get the preferred rooms as they tend to put u near the pools/food court. as for you going in early december, isnt that the weeks that the pop warner stuff is going on? would have to check on those dates n such like 1 of the earlier posters mentioned. if thats the case id stay away those resorts for sure.

Thanks for all the input. I'll check into the Pop Warner if we decide to do a Value. I really am leaning toward the CBR again. I just love the tropical atmosphere there and I like having a coffee pot and refrigerator in the room. I just would love to get a better price, so I'll hope for some specials to be announced soon.:flower3: I know early Dec. is value season soooooo...

my wife and i stayed at values music and movies, that last two trips to disney because we figured that we would just spen every waking moment at the parks and would only be in teh rooms to slleep and shower. we had to spend every moment at the parks becuase the resorts were super busy and loud.

this november we are going back and staying at POR. we are a young couple with no kids and the more laid back relaxed atmosphere of a moderate like POr really appeal to us. just my .02

Thanks SM. I think we are leaning toward CBR again, especially if we get a good code for Dec. I love the tropical atmosphere there. I'm sure the Values are great, especially for a family with children, I'm not sure we'll be so happy there, especially because we are looking to enjoy the resort more than the parks this time.

Not a fan of the values...

We don't have kids and stayed at ASMusic before buying into DVC. I didn't like it at all. Too crowded and noisy - especially the buses!
