Which restuarant should we miss?

My husband and I are going on the 3 night cruise and will be eating Palo one evening. We decided not to do the "double-dip," so we could fully enjoy the menu. I am wondering which restaurant we should choose to replace, if we get to choose our rotation?

I know I want to eat at Animator's Palate, but I don't know enough about Triton's or Parrot Cay to make a decision. A good description of these would help too.

:wave2:

If it is between Tritons and Parrot Cay Definatly skip Parrot Cay! You will not be sorry. Not that PC is terrible its just that Tritons/Lumiers is WONDERFUL! The atmosphere and the food.

Tritons was my least favorite...I liked Parrot Cay and Animators...

We liked the food at Parrot Cay, but Triton's was even better! My vote would be to skip Parrot Cay.

we were on the 4 day and had the same dilemma, b/c we didn't want to go to Palos the last night

anyhow -- do you have kids traveling with you? We actually went to Palo's on our Triton night:eek: and I wouldn't recommend that! duh! I made our Palo ressie based on port schedule and didn't know our dining rotation. I didn't realize I should've stopped at the table to change our rotation afte rmaking a Palo ressie. Anyhow -- we took our kids to Triton's b/c I didn't want to miss it -- and just had a shrimp appetizer and glass of wine and then enjoyed the restaurant with them and our table mates.

so we double-dipped and still enjoyed the full menu at Palo's. BTW -- we had early seating and 7 p.m. Palo ressie

oh you are going to LOVE Palo's!!! Tell Eduardo we said hello if he's your server - he was fantastic!

You can eat at Parrot Cay and Tritons for lunch to get an idea of the atmophere - you'll miss the menu. I'd look at the menus and make a decision from there.

Triton's is a little more formal and dressy. If you want two of these experiences, you might want to skip Parrot Cay. But Parrot Cay is probably the most casual dining room - and I thought it was probably the dinner that was the most "fun."

We skipped Triton's on our 3 day cruise and ate there one day for lunch. I would recomend skipping animator's. To me the food there was not very good and the show was way overrated. Also, i would not recomend eating at Palo your first night. You are still getting used to the motion of the ocean.....lol. My DH was not feeling well and couldn't enjoy his meal at Palo. After the first night though, he was fine.

When I do the 3 day.. I do what crisi had mentioned... We go to Parrot Cay.. for the Embarkation Buffet / lunch on another day... and I go to Triton's , Animators Palate, and Palo for our 3 dinners.....:D

I know you mentioned that you wanted to dine in Animators... But, I just had to play devil's-advocate here and say that I would definately choose to skip Animators... You can get your fix of Disney Animation without combining it with eating. The atmosphere and the food at Triton's (more upscale) and Parrot Cay(tropical, with calypso band...) are both really great!

HAve you looked at the menus on either Barb or Dave's sites? I would maybe choose a night that I am scheduled to be at a restaurant that you don't find things you would not miss. Each one has its own good and bad points. Animators is fun, but not my favorite menu.

My husband did not like Animator's. He loves disney, but thought the restaurant was too cheesy. I liked the menus in the other restaurants better. Triton's was my favorite. You could have appetizers or dessert in one plus eat at Palos.

As you can see, everyone has differing opinions probably based on different tastes. Take a look at the menus (as suggested above) at these websites.

I think all of the food is good but prefer some over others. This might help you decide. Or do what was also described above...DOUBLE DIP.

I totally agree! AP didn't do anything for me. The best part of AP was meeting our server/asst. server.

We had the most fun in Parrot Cay, and really enjoyed Triton's. Of course, Palo by far was the best!

We chose to skip Palo because this was a family vacation and we wanted to be with our kids for all meals. We were on the 7 day, so we ate everywhere twice, and Luminires 3 times.
This gives us an excuse to go again when the kids are grown up, so we can eat at Palo.:bounce:

Animator's Palate has no windows, a low ceiling and the noise level is HIGH. The first night is the only "show".

I like to skip it altogether since once you see "the show", it is no big deal.

You can have lunch at Parrot Cay when you board so skip it for dinner at Palo's.

Well, the first night that it's your turn will be the only show. Not just the first night on the ship. Maybe I just misunderstood.

I would NOT miss Palo's!!! That was the best food I've ever had!! Our waiter was wonderful. We told him to just bring us what he thought was best with the desserts. We had another couple with us. He brought us every dessert on the menu!

You should see the menu before you decide which one to miss. Everyone will have their own opinion as you can see. I liked the atmosphere of AP, but I think I was expecting so much more. I don't remember any restaurant really impressing me except Palo's. I wish I could have went more which we could have since we were with another couple.

Have a great time! :Pinkbounc

We have had great table mates on all of our cruises so we hate to miss any evening meal with them. We have kept up with many of them even after the cruises are over. The evening meals with these new friends are a wonderful part of the cruise experience

The restaurant that I'm going to miss at night is .... Palo's. We'll do the lunch there but not at night!
