Which Resort?

Sitting here waiting for AP information to come out... my wife and I just can't decide on a resort. We've narrowed it down to these three... (we've stayed at the WL, loved it, but may want to try something new and would like to stay on the monorail, but of course, this is more expensive)...

Suggestions?

I know that is one of the first hotels, the Poly, that I want to stay at when I venture to the deluxes.

I can't tell you from personal experience because I have never been to any of the resorts that you listed. But I have heard that the Polynesian is nice...just old. I've been inside the contemporary...it doesn't seem to Disney-like to me but that's because it seems more like a conference center (in my opinion). I think that's what they mostly use it for too. I heard the Wilderness Lodge is great but there are a lot of kids. If you and your wife want peace and relaxation I don't think that would be the place to stay.

I have been to PO-Riverside twice and absolutely love it. I would stay there again this year but since it's my honeymoon, I think I should try something different. What's nice about PO-Riverside is that they have a boat to Downtown Disney. That's my favorite thing about PO-Riverside. There are kids there but it's not even close to AS Resorts.

Have you ever been to Boardwalk. We're trying to get codes to stay there. I've never been but I hear it's nice.

I know exactly what your talking about! Its been every conversation we had for the last 2 weeks! Presently we have the poly BUT we have stayed there probably the last 4 years for at least 1/2 of the trip. So we are thinking about the GF. We have stayed at the GF once but it happened to be for 2 weeks from 9/6 > to 9>22 with 9/11 in the middle. So it was not a good trip. And are worried memories may be bad, carma may be bad etc.... So not sure what we will end up doing. It all comes done to "the phone call". What is on the ap rate. If this resort is this price and this isn't offered then we have a list of choices #1,2,3, etc..... .

I can tell you we love the poly! Its a great resort, lots to do, great location. The rooms are huge! Good layout. I like the pools better at the poly than the wl. The quiet pool especially.

Well, good luck and happy hunting! But in my mind, you can not go wrong with the monorail resorts.

I voted the Polynesian although we love the GF, too. It's beautiful but we just find the Polynesian magical.

Angie, if you ever stay at the Polynesian, I don't think you'll find it old at all. It's always beautifully maintained and the grounds are incredible. Three beaches, Tiki lights at night....sigh.

We have stayed and the Polynesian and I loved it!
The Contemporary is not our style.
We are trying the Grand Floridian this October.

Contemporary! It's the most funnest (i no, bad grammar) resort. poly is great if u love gardens, but the contemporary has more magic. ive never stayed at the WL, so i dont know.

I have never stayed at the Contemporary, but between the Polynesian and Caribbean I would vote Caribbean any day. Its a lot quicker to just get up and go and get breakfast there than at the Polynesian. Another bonus, the food is the same quality (in my opinion) at the Caribbean and is less expensive than it is at the Polynesian. Both have fun atmospheres, but I would say that the Caribbean for us when we went had a more upbeat atmosphere. Depends on if you want the monorail or not I would guess, but you can't go wrong with the Caribbean.

Ahh lol I am so sorry! I missed the wilderness lodge and for some reason thought the Caribbean was a choice! lol In that case I would go the Polynesian.

Voted for the Poly, but we also loved the WL. The contemporay isn't our style. The Poly is a beautiful hotel, and with the rights discounts, my first choice.

I have stayed at both WL and Poly and I have to say Poly. The rooms are bigger, if you get a lagoon view it CAN NOT be beat , oh I don't know, like I said if I had to picck it would be the Poly, right on the monarail. I bet no matter where you stay you are going to love it and have a ball Have a FUNtastic time

I voted Poly! We've stayed at all three of your choices and prefer the Poly hands down. WL felt far-removed. Bus and boat transportation was horrible. You'll see what I mean if you stay at a monorail resort. Especially the Poly. The CR was fine, but it sure needs a "refresh" or something. However, it did have the Disney magic. We love the Poly because of the relaxing atmosphere, the convenience, the wonderful CMS, large rooms, great pool, great food and drink (Lapu Lapu in a pineapple). We went for the first time in Feb and it became our favorite resort. So much so that we're going again 7/6....AP rates pending.

I picked Contemporary. We stayed at both the Contemporary and Polynesian during spring break and though the Polynesian was a very nice resort and we liked that too, the Contemporary was lighter and brighter. But, we did have a 10th flor Tower room facing Magic Kingdom so this is the point of reference I'm coming from. We often go to Hawaii (we live on the West Coast) so for us, the Polynesian seemed too much like other non-Disney vacations we take.

We're trying out the Grand Floridian in December - I also hear good things about this resort as well.
