My family and I will be going to DW at the end of January. It will be my husband, 4 yr old stepson and myself and then my grandma and grandpa.

I am wanting advice from all you smart Disney folk or where we should stay! If possible, I would like to get a suite/cabin/whatever that is big enough for all of us, but noone is sleeping on a couch. (this will be my husband's midtour, so we will def need a bedroom and privacy ;))

But here is hte kicker, we really don't want to spend more than $75 a family a night. (if its a suite, divided in half) so is there a place we could all stay together or would it be better to get two rooms at a value or something?

Thanks so much!

PS I realize that new rates have not yet come out, but just guestimating on expiernce and previous trips.

I think one option for close to that price range would be getting 2 rooms at a value resort. That means you will have a total of 4 beds and 2 baths. You can request for adjoining room; however, Disney doesn't guarantee it but will try to accomodate it. With a decent promotion, you can possible get the room each for close to that a night...possibly.

You have a few options-- The first one I can think of are the rooms that sleep 5 at POR. They have two double beds and one trundle bed (which would be perfect for the 4 year-old). At the end of January, I would think the price for this room would be about $149 a night, so that would fit your budget perfectly!

Another option would be a family suite at All-Star Music. These suites sleep 6, and have a separate bedroom with a queen bed, plus a queen sleeper-sofa, and something else that I can't remember right now. I think the cheapest one of these rooms go for is about $184 a night though, which is a little bit over your budget.

Your other option is the two rooms at a value. Good luck deciding, and have a great trip!

First - thanks to your DH for serving our country!
Second - definitely better with 2 rooms at All Stars or POP. They may not be connecting but grandma and grandpa can take the 4 year old so you guys can have the privacy you need/deserve. You won't have the total privacy option anywhere else. This way - the 4 year old can bounce back and forth and everyone gets their own bed.

Good Luck!

I missed that part....for 2009...military discount was 40% off rooms and the $99/ticket offer for family members and a free 5 day myw for the person serving.

When in January you are you going? Disney possible could offer that for 2010 also...just something to keep in mind!

I have stayed in the ASMu Suites... a suite is NOT what you want for any type of "privacy". You would want to do the 2 value rooms and ask the grandparents to babysit for a bit. ;)

Here is the room layout for ASMu Suites:

(Although, it doesn't show that the chair and otoman also pull out into sleepers with a total of 2 sleeping in the couch sleeper, and 1 on the chair sleeper, and 1 on the ottoman sleeper.)

We def took advantage of the military offers this year and we are hoping for next year as well!! Both my husband and I are military so we would be able to get grams, gramps and sson cheaper tickets and room discounts - even if we had to do 2 rooms.

thanks for everyones input!! has anyone stayed at the FW cabins? I saw those and they seem really nice! ESPECIALLY if they do 40% off again!!

Another option would be the new Tree Houses. If Disney does the 40% code again for you....you would be a little higher than 75/night but not outrageously much more. Again...just an option.:)

what are the treehouses? I haven't heard about these...

Another option would be to see about renting points from a DVC owner and get a two bedroom villa. You would have a king bed in one bedroom, a living room with a sleepsofa, a full kitchen, a washer/dryer, and the second bedroom has a queen bed and either another queen bed or a sleepsofa depending on the resort plus another full bathroom. You would have the most privacy this way and plenty of room to spread out.

How do you go about doing this? Is it still a Disney resort to get EMHs and transportation? Do you know the (roundabout) price range?

Thanks for the suggestion!

We rent our 2 bedroom directly from Disney so its not discounted. Go to the DVC boards and people have said on previous posts that you can get information there. You would still get EMH and could add the dining plan if you want to do that. The only thing I have seen is that you can't get the free dining. We love the villas. We usually do a quick breakfast in the villa in the morning and then head out to the parks. The BC and BW villas are withing walking or boating to Epcot and the Studios and a bus ride to MK and AK. The BWV are currently undergoing a rehab so depending on when you were looking to go they will be brand new. We are hoping to get on when we go in Aug. but if not if will be no big deal - we'll just have to go back when they are done!

The rack rate for a tree house villa in value season is $545. Even with a 40% discount, (if they would even discount these rooms)that comes to $327 a night plus tax.

I'd go with a FW cabin. You'd have 2 full sized beds and a bunk bed. There is also a full kitchen in there, that could save you some money as far as meals go (assuming you are trying to save money!). :wizard:

Your other options are an ASMu family suite, a villa, or a regular room at POR in the AB section (they have 2 full sized beds and a trundle bed). I don't know about you, but I would go crazy with 5 people staying in a regular room though!
