Which resort do you prefer (or perhaps even dislike) when it comes to staying Club Level.

We stayed at HRH Club level in 2003, and while quite nice it wasn't spectacular.

We are booked for PBH this summer and have read some great reviews. So, we are excited about that.

However, which is your favorite resort when staying Club level? And why?

i have used them all and prefer HRH.
next choice would be RPH

the PBH is fine but if you are on a different floor from where the lounge is located, you have to deal with elevators and trays when you take items back to your room.

there are older threads that show the spread of the club furnishings.
check them out and you can see how the other 2 hotels are set up.

the one at pbh is great but the location is my issue with it.

i prefer the HRH one
they replenish quite well on the nights i have used the lounge for food.

RPR is my favorite. The whole staff in the lounge is great. They replenish pretty quickly on the food. Only thing is that it's smaller than the rest of the clubs, but it's still my favorite

I have to admit this is a major concern that I have about PBH, about it being far from our room.

We were at the HRH in 2003 and though the offerings were nice, I think we were expecting something more along the lines of the Polynesian concierge (where we had stayed the year before), and it wasn't as elaborate. But we still very much enjoyed our stay there! It's a fabulous hotel.

Actually, my DD (whose b-day we are going to celebrate) was looking at pictures tonight and she was asking if maybe we could change our stay to the HRH. She was only 2 1/2 when we stayed there the last time and has no memory of it. I'm considering it :).

The lounge is smaller? I've read great things on this board about the staff at RPR :)

We have stayed at all three. I think the offerings are about the same in all of the lounges and I have never had a complaint about the service. My least favorite is HRH, only for the subtle differences. I do not find the staff there quite as hospitable as RPR and PBH but I chalk that op to the whole HRH atmosphere. I also feel the HRH lounge is too small and gets extremely crowded. We recently fell in love with the PBH resort and really enjoyed their club lounge. We found their staff to be the best of all three resorts. PBH has slightly different club offerings that are Italian themed, antipasta etc. My least favorite thing about PBH club is the location of the lounge but it ended up not being as big an issue as I thought it would be. It was also very convenient to the pool which was a plus. In comparing UO clubs to WDW, Polynesian Concierge is not a good comparison (the Poly is our favorite concierge among UO and WDW). UO clubs are more comparable to the BC/YC and WL concierge levels in my opinion. With the expception of the Polynesian, I think the staff are much better at PBH, RPR and HRH.

::yes:: The staff is the best out of the 3 hotels. And the lounge at RPR is 2,000 sq ft. the lounge at PBH & HRH are both 3,500 sq ft.

Does RPR have less club rooms then, to compensate for the smaller club lounge? Or does it get really crowded?

Wow! I'm not questioning your facts but the HRH lounge seemed smaller to me. May be because it always seemed so crowded. I guess it is all perception. Thanks for correcting me!

I think you could fit both RPR and HRH club lounges in the PBH club lounge.

A few years ago when we saw the club at PBH we thought it was a lot bigger than HRH, but going by the information on the site, it says that it is the same size. i don't know:confused3

We have just stayed at HR and RP, and we prefer HR mainly because of the views. The PR freeway view just didn't float our boat.

prefer hrh club over rpr club
desserts are better at rpr but everything else is better at hrh
our teens love hrh

Just bumping this up for more opinions!

DD ultimately decided that the RPR is where she wanted to stay for her b-day and it's fine with me because their FLO rates were the cheapest of the three! I hope we love it!

Is it possible to contact the RPR Club staff prior to arrival? I want to surprise DD with something on her b-day.

you can order a cake for her and have it delivered to the room.
dsmom has listed the phone numbers before for this in another thread.

a few have shown their bd cakes that were made for them at the hotel.
a few trippies had some pics on the celebration cakes.

they looked wonderful!

I've seen some of the cake pictures and they look great! This is one of the things I wanted to do! Plus, I was thinking a stuffed animal and maybe some balloons? She's turning 8.

taylor, contact concierge 48 hours in advance for the cake.
that is a requirement.

not sure if you prepay or just have it put on your bill.
they will throw the balloons in for you for free.

good luck.
happy trip and bday surprise for your child!
