I know it sounds weird but I was trying to figure out what size carry-on I'm allowed to take with me for my trip in Sept on Jetblue. When I went onto the website they mention two types of airplanes.:confused3

One is the Airbus A320, and the other is Embraer 190. The airbus allows for a bigger bag. My guess is that we will be on the Airbus since we are leaving from a large airport (JFK) but I could be wrong.

Can someone help?

If Jetblue works like USAir with their express jets, if your carry on is too big for the smaller plane, they will simply gate check it for you and put it underneath. USAir doesn't charge for this.

I would go ahead and pack whatever carryon you intended. If you are on the larger plane, you can keep it with you, if not, it will be stowed underneath where you can pick it up at the gate at your destination.

You should be able to tell by looking at the seating chart where you can select or change your seat assignments. The Airbus has three seats on each side and the Embracer has two seats on each side.

Exactly what I was going to post. OP, don't assume because you are flying a major airport that there is only large planes. I fly in and out of Dulles Airport, pretty major, and the morning flight is always the Airbus and the evening flight is always the smaller plane. You can check as ancestry mentioned, by looking at the seating chart. 2x2 seats is the smaller flight and 3x3 is the larger -- however, be warned, they can and have changed the plane prior to the flight as I've seen happen a few times, so it's something you might want to keep an eye on.

I agree with check the seating chart. I fly from Logan and have had both planes to and from MCO.

Thanks for the suggestions, except I do not know how to check our seating chart. I booked our flight through various sources so I wouldnt know where to go.

Go to www.kayak.com

Click on FLIGHTS

Search for your flights - put in your dates and airports. After it searches, it will turn up many results. You can narrow it down by unclicking boxes until it is only searching for your connection type (non-stop, 1 stop, 2 stops).

When you see your flight, click on DETAILS.

It will tell you which type of plane it is.
