Which one CS or AK

This is my first post!! I have a trip booked in June and we are staying at CS, but I am thinking about upgrading to AK, and I am just wondering what is the difference (besides price) what more do you get by staying at a Deluxe compared to a Moderate.

We have stayed at PORFQ our last trip and loved it, but would like to try another resort this time. So I am just wondering if it is worth the extra money or am I better off staying were we are......

To me the main advantage of AKL over CSR is that the whole resort is one building. I especially like that during the time of year when it rains alot. Both are great resorts.

The biggest difference between these two resorts:

1. Interior hallways. You will walk to your room and the lobby and food areas all indoors. The moderate resorts have exterior doors to your room and you will walk outdoors to get to food and lobby areas. AKL is set up more like a hotel where you are indoors at all times unless you go outside to the pool area.

2. Patios and balconies. Moderate resorts do not offer patios or balconies, you will only have your exterior door and a window next to it.

3. Luxury. Which of course varies with each person's opinion but I always feel like the deluxe resorts offer more of a luxury resort experience. The AKL is so beautiful, and the animals are amazing to watch, if your budget will allow the upgrade I would definitely go for AKL over CSR.

The ambiance at AKL is very special and definitely worth upgrading IMO. What sets AKL apart in my mind is that it is a complete well themed resort experience - with lots of cultural activities offered through out the day, good dining and giraffes in your "back yard"! Not many places can offer the same kind of experience you are getting at AKL - if you just want a clean room with relaxing ambiance CSR would definitely do that - but AKL is more of a not to miss experience - I could just go and enjoy the resort and be happy without even visiting the parks - just my opinion. Have a great trip whatever you decide!

A.K.L. is a great resort best deluxe resort for the money. The views of the animals are great. The rests. Are great from the less expensive counter service to the more expensive sit down rests. The cast members are great and just sitting in that wonderful lobby is just wonderful. Just sitting next to the fire pit is so relaxing. I love the Poly but I just don't have that much money but A.K.L. is right up there as my favorite.

We've never stayed at CSR, but we loved AKL. The resort is beautiful, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, there are great CS and TS options, and it's nice having areas around the resort to view the animals. With that said, I think the extra cost for AKL is worth it. Good luck.

We love both resorts for different types of trips. AKL is more immersive, and it is a great resort to hang out on the balcony or in the lobby. The restaurants at AKL are great, and the overall theming is excellent. I like AKL for a relaxing, non-commando trip. Even when we stay somewhere else, we always go to AKL for an evening to eat at Boma and watch the animals.

In our experience, CSR has better bus transportation and more comfortable beds. My kids like the pool and slide better at CSR. I like the sliding doors that separate the bathroom area from the room. I can get showered and ready at CSR without waking the kids, but turning on the light in the vanity area at AKL woke them up (because the rooms at AKL are dark). For a trip that is park touring from sun up to sundown, we prefer CSR.
