I am going to do an add on at either BC or BW but do not know which. I know everyone says buy where you want to stay but I would be quite happy at either location.

So, please convince me which one to add on and why. I really need help on this on. My home resort right now is SSR which I am happy with but love the location of BC/BW.

Thanks :)

I think it really depends.

If you want the BWV standard or BW view rooms, it sounds like they are difficult if you are not owners there.

For us, we would add-on at BCV for one reason...
We've heard BWV and BCV are very difficult to get in during F&W. At the 7 month mark, we were not able to get BCV for Columbus Day weekend (F&W). However, we were able to get BWV. We've also read a few reports of BWV waitlists for around the same time coming through.

With BCV having fewer rooms, we suspected this would be the case, so we're not surprised.

When AKV, Aulani, BLT, GCV, and THV are sold out, there will be tens of thousands more DVC members. It will likely be even more difficult to get either one at 7 months. (At least during F&W, holidays, and other peak DVC seasons).

If you want a dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 queens, buy BCV...BWV only has lock offs. If you want bargain points for standard views, or if you ever think you'll be booking a Grand Villa, then you'll need BWV. Since BWV is larger, you are more likely to be able to book the Preferred view at BWV even without owning there, and you also may be able to get standard view at certain times of the year. A benefit to owning at BWV for us has been the ability to book standard view and get the point savings for high point times like New Years eve.

We own at both. We began our DVC with a BWV purchase, but added on at BCV because of the 2 bedroom and the Storm along bay pool!

If you are perfectly content with either one, I'd go for the one with the lowest dues.

BCV has Storm Along Bay, 2 Queens in SOME of the two bedrooms. Its generally thought to be a quieter resort. You can eat without needing to go outside if its raining. It also has lower dues.

BWV has Boardwalk View and Standard View rooms and Grand Villas. If you own, you can generally get standard view rooms and need less points overall, which saves on how many points you need to buy and your dues bill.

I'm another one who has a standard view studio at BWV during the F&W festival (that I got at 7 months) while I'm waiting for BCV. BCV is the only resort where the waitlist hasn't come thru. Every other resort I've ever waitlisted for has come through. If you have a preference of BWV or BCV, go for that, otherwise, I agree with Chuck S's recommendation-buy where the lowest dues are.

we own at both, but greatly prefer BWVs.
for the same points as no view at the BCV, we can get the breathtaking BW view at the BWVs.
or we can save points, by booking standard view (which is, imho, comparable to BCV views).
we find the BCVs much noisier and busy, whereas BWV is quiet, with action right at the fingertips if you want.
SAB has no draw for us, as it gets very, very crowded. :crowded:

both are beautiful resorts, with great proximity to EPCOT and DHS. we love the nighttime action of the BW, and the great community hall. both can be visited when staying at the BCV, but we felt like outsiders looking in when staying there.....it just wasn't the same:guilty:

That would be a hard choice in my house. DH likes BWV more, my boys like BCV more. I like them both the same. I would look at the resale market and buy a contract that fits the best. I don't think you can go wrong at either.
