Which naming trend is your least favorite?

I don't mind when all kids have the same first letter, well, since Husband and I are both D's, we might just make everyone a D. Depends, really, on if we every have kids!

I like boys names for girls but I can see how this can get old. I worked with a Kyle who was a girl and also a Daryl who was a girl. It helped their careers because frankly, people thought they were boys on their resumes.

That's a legitimate symbol though. Like in the Spanish language they use "n" and "ñ". How you pronounce it, I don't know - but I do know that it is used in words and names of foreign languages. (I think mainly Slavic, but I'm not sure)

Random apostrophes, made up names, and extra letters annoy me. For example, Dannii instead of Danny or even Danni.

I personally would not mind the I's, the strange/altered spellings and the apostrophes if people didn't get so annoyed when I misspell/pronounce their little dawlings name........

Name your kid what you want, but hey, own up to and accept the responsibility for the butchering that will take place.

Well I guess the symbol is inspired by the Scandinavian language, the mother is some sort of Scandinavain buff or something. The weird thing is her name is Olivia, with the dots over the O, and it's the regular O sound. I don't think Olivia is Scandinavian.

I gotta laugh at Anfernee, that is awful. Poor kid.

Why do you hate it when twins don't have twin names? You want to name your kids something that rhymes? Is that a twin name? Like Danny and Manny? When I taught, I had a set of twins, Antony and Antonio. Is that twin enough?

Personally, I like it when twins have regular names. We have twins in our family, and none of them have the rhyming names, they were all named after a different person, and well, they're treated more as individuals and not as part of a twin.

I actually hate the new crop of trendy names. And I don't even want to say any of them, because I'm sure there are a lot of them on the boards.

What happened to 'real' names? Daniel, Joseph, Anthony, Robert, Jonathan, James, Catherine, Anne, Carolyn, Mary, Elizabeth?? What's with these (IMO) strange, trendy, goofy names??

**Notice I used my family names as 'normal'? LOL! **

ETA - My Joey and my Danny have been the ONLY Joey's and Danny's in their classes since they started school!! Names like Joe and Dan are now becoming 'rare'. It's weird.
