Which Moderate?

We are planning to visit Disney on 28th Dec to 17th Jan and don't know which moderate resort to choose. We have stayed at CBR and loved it but would like to try somewhere different. Any suggestions? We were looking at the CSR but have seen some bad reports. We would also like to know when the best time is to book, we are Disney Club Members and we're also going to buy annual passes. Please could you help!

How about POFQ?

A second for POFQ. It's smaller than the other mods. Great themeing (is that a word?) Pool is loads of fun for the kids.

I've been both POR and POFQ and liked the FQ better.
As mentioned - its smaller, everything is close, the pool is
great with a waterslide and I love the New Orleans theme.
POR was okay, just found things spread out. Both have the
boats to Downtown Disney which is a very pretty ride, only
problem now is for sit down restaurant you have to walk to
PORR

Don't base your decision on a resort by the negative things you may read. For every negative post you'll find a positive one. Everyone has different taste. Good luck decding! Here are some threads to read.

If there are any kids going and you only need 1 room, I'd pick All Star Movies. If its only adults, then PO-French Quarter. Read all you can, look at pictures, etc. Have fun deciding.

If you are a family of 5, we love the POR. We enjoy staying in the rustic Alligator Bayou. We stay in bldg 24 which is a very long walk from the main bldgs, but it is right around the corner from the last bus stop and faces the quiet pool and the laundry rooms. We love the peace and the beautiful landscaping. We do enjoy the food court area/main pool but don't really mind the walk. just my 2 cents.

I liked CBR too. If you're looking for something different, what about POFQ? I've heard great things about it.

My favorite is POFQ--it is small, quiet, and peaceful. 2nd fav is POR--but it is quite spread out. Haven't stayed at CBR yet, but plan to. CSR just wasn't my style, although the resort is beautiful and appeared to be romantic.

My vote would have to be for POR Mansions side.

With such a long trip, I would split my stay between two resorts. Haven't stayed at a moderate yet (we are staying at POR in 5 days ) but I probably would split between POR and CBR from what I have read and the pictures I have seen.

FQ is my favorite mod! It's nice & small and I love the atmosphere

POFQ is our favorite also, followed closely by POR.

CSR is a beautiful resort too; I agree with Buzz2001 that you will find many positive and negative reports about all the resorts. We enjoyed our stay there!

And of course, you know you like CBR, so perhaps that would be the bet choice for you.

I know, I'm absolutely no help. I just think they are all great choices!

If only all decisions in life were this much fun to make!

I luv Coronado Springs Resort! I must admit i haven't been to any other mod, but after staying @ CSR i wouldn't want to stay any where else.

The resort IS large, but i think that just adds to its beauty! My family stayed in the Cabanas.. i believe building 8B and loved the location! Close to the Beach, Pool, Pepper Market, and 1st bus stop. We were given a free upgrade to water veiw upon check in which was a nice suprise. Also, we were in a second floor corner room and it was VERY quiet.

The Pepper Market is also different, but im my opinion makes it more like a sit-down meal instead of a food court. This might be a disadvantage to some, however; i luved the atmosphere! A total departure from the All-star Movies/Music food courts to say the least! The PM was quiet and very festive (before i came i thought it would be tacky from the pics, but i really did like it once i saw it!) It has kinda of an outdoor feel, but in the airconditioning. Also, on some night there was a mexican-ish band playing softly and the water fountain was always in the background....

The resort is very beautiful! I enjoyed being in the cabanas and looking across the lake to see the casitas lit up as a little town, and the mayan temple's fire lit. The beach is very small, but when i went to lay in the hamocks there was never more than one other person there. The pool area is also very nice and the slide was my little brother's main amusement.

There was a convention goin on during our stay but besides one night when there were ppl picking up name tags in the (beautiful) lobby we never did see them. As in 'Them' i mean ppl walking around in business suits...
Overall my entire family loved out stay and will go back.

E1 has there favorite resort. We have loved CSR from our first stay there with 2 more planned.

The Dig Site is an awesome pool with one of the best slides and hot tubs on property.

A workout faciltity including tanning beds, hair salon and massage.

Coffee makers in the room with iron and ironing boards

We stayed at CBR and really liked it. The next year we wanted to try a new moderate and chose POR and loved it! We stayed in one of the mansions and it was great!
