Which moderate would you choose and why?

Look at this picture of a bedspread from an unrefurbished room at CSR:

So this isn't bright and colorful? Is anyone offended by this bedspread? Come on. Personally, I would not let a bedspread affect my opinion of a resort. You can really just take it off, or maybe just put the blanket underneath the bedspread on top of it so you don't have to look at it. Even if you think the nemo bedspread is childish, you are at Disney. You could consider a lot of things at Disney to be childish.

Yes, that is a bit loud and colorful for my taste... also not the section of the resort we have stayed in. Also not covered in characters. This is the section of the resort we prefer: http://allears.net/acc/csrss.htm

Also not sure why you are personally offended that some people don't like the Nemo themed rooms. Taste is subjective. There are many resorts I would never stay at in WDW. Doesn't mean I don't like Disney characters, just that the resort doesn't suit my taste. When I leave the park, I want some down time. Nemo doesn't do it for me. Neither do the All Stars. Doesn't make me a Disney hater.

I'm still confused as to why some people are so personally offended that some people don't like the Nemo bedspread? :confused3 We're all just expressing our opinions. And you should be thankful that there are those who do not like the bedspread or something else at the resort and choose to go elsewhere, or else your favorite resort would be too booked for you to get a room.

Not liking the bedspread does not equate to not liking Disney. My teens also don't ride Dumbo, WtP, or Snow White, don't like character dinners or parades. That also doesn't mean they don't like Disney. They are more into the thrill rides and other things Disney has to offer. Thank goodness or those rides would be even more jammed up than they already are.

I apologize to any CBR fan that finds my boys' opinion on the bedspread personally offensive. It's really not meant to hurt your feelings. :grouphug:

No one is taking any personal offense to anyone not liking the nemo bedspreads. These are hotels. How could anyone be offended by someone not liking a hotel? That doesn't make sense.

However, some posters repeatedly bring up the fact that they think, or other people think, that the rooms at CBR look childish. They do this in an effort to paint CBR as a resort for kids only, and that adults would not like this resort. Now, I understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I encourage everyone to continue stating their opinions as often as they like. Some people, though, are simply using this as a dig to CBR fans. KatMark has repeatedly brought up this topic of her son thinking the bedspreads are childish. And SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO DO SO. However, at a point, people start to understand that she's just trying to get on the nerves of CBR fans, like me, who do not like CSR, and like to report their bad experiences. The difference between us is that those of us who complain about CSR have actually stayed there.

Oh well, this really shouldn't be a big deal. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, and I plan on letting this issue go now.

I was going to stay out of this thread because it has gotten nuts and the poor OP is not getting her question answered. My dear Stitch, yes, I have stated my son thinks the bedspreads are childish--and he has every right to think so. Personally, I think they are too. And as I've told two other posters, I have not said a word to my son about the CBR except that I don't like the food court and that I would avoid eating there. I've said nothing to him about the resort in general, the rooms or anything else.

I could care less about most of the CBR fans--don't like most of them. There are a few that I talk to all of the time who are very nice. I have no issue with them liking the CBR--it is their choice, just as CSR is mine. But the last time I checked, it is okay for DISer's to post their thoughts, just as it is okay for you to post your thoughts on the CSR. And in case you haven't noticed, I have come to the defense of the CBR on a number of occasions and have even recommended staying at the CBR over a value.

Now, I think it is time we let this go and let the OP get the answer to her/his questions.

I'm done with the topic.

Exactly what I mean. We're just expressing our opinions.

I don't think KatMark is trying to get on your nerves. She does try to answer honestly any questions asked about resorts, from what I've seen. And she always seems to be very unbiased in her opinions. In fact, I've seen her say good things about CBR many times. I've often disagreed with what she says, but I've never thought of her as someone who is purposefully trying to get on someone's nerves.

I think someone owes her an apology.

Ummm... this is a personal attack, and not allowed on the DIS. And it is not the first you have made in this thread. Please refrain in the future. Post your opinions all you want, but do not attack the opinions of others. It is, after all, their personal opinion.

I don't see this as a personal attack at all. Merely a board member posting his/her impression on the siutation at hand.

What I do find *interesting* however is the condescending tone most clearly evident in the response to the post in question. My dear Karibritt, surely you *do* understand? :rolleyes1

It baffles the mind that such a course of events would occur over opinions on a hotel at WDW. No wonder threads regarding politics and religion are frowned upon.

.

I wholeheartedly agree. Are we not all adults here? I joined these boards to research and plan my very special to me Disney trip and also to meet some new people who share the same mad love for Mickey that I do. I've received amazing feedback and suggestions from some very wonderful and knowledgeable people here, and for that, I am thankful. I'm still researching ideas and frankly, some of the threads I've come across lately have been downright snarky and childish and there is absolutely no need for it. How disappointing for adult behaviour on a Disney board of all places. I don't get it. :sad2:

I apologize if KatMark took these comments as me attacking her as a person.. that is clearly not what I was trying to do, and I am sorry if it came out that way. However, I do not see my comments as a "personal attack", but rather as simply my opinion as to her motive behind trying to paint CBR as a resort for children. BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION. I am sure most of you will disagree. Again, KatMark, I apologize if you were personally offended by my comments.

Stitch, apology not necessary...but thank you. I say we just LET THIS DIE and let the OP get the answers she was looking for.

Have a magical day everyone.

I'm going to leave this open in hopes that the OP might yet get an answer to their question, but it looks like they're long gone, probably because their perfectly simple request was hijacked by an argument over bedspread colors....

For the record: Opinions are welcome here. Polite disagreement is perfectly acceptable. Sniping and snarky comments are not.

Wow! After being away all day, I'm just now reading the latest on this thread. I'm only responding at this point because I was a part of the "bedspread discussion" early on. First of all, I want to say that my friend Stitch expressed very well the feelings of many of us - that we are tired of the continuous derogatory comments made by some people against CBR. Of course it is all right for people to express their opinions on a resort, good or bad. But to continuously do so about a resort you have never even stayed at is disingenuous and unfair. I am not a CBR fan - I have never stayed there, but I am hoping to next year. I made that choice based on some of the honest, informative reviews from people who had actually stayed there. However, some of the recent comments on CBR would have steered me away from giving it a try if I were a Dis newcomer and didn't know whose opinion I could trust.

In no way did Stitch make a personal attack against anyone. If anything, he was on the receving end of one. But it was nice to see Stitch take the high road and offer apologies if his comments offended anyone. :thumbsup2

Hopefully, the good thing that will come from this whole crazy debate is that, just maybe, these practices will come to an end.

We just got back from staying at CSR, we really liked it. We were in one of the recently refurbed rooms and it was really nice. I just looked the pictures of the old rooms on allearsnet.com. The new rooms look way better than those pictures. If you stay there I would try to get a refurbed room. The pool was great, nice theme and it looked like a great slide. Can't say for sure though because DS wouldn't go down it. I thought the only down side is you can be far away from the food court or far away from the main pool.

I stayed at CBR in 2003, it's been so long ago I don't feel I can give any kind of review on it. Other than to say we were also far from the food court when we stayed there. At both CSR and CBR we chose to drive to the food court rather than walk it.

I have also stayed at POFQ. It's a smaller resort, the pool is just OK. The good thing is since it's small you aren't far from anything.

I hope this helps.

Lordy mercy! I'm not here to get in on any of the fuss that's going on. I'm just going to share the link to my CBR pictures and review. It's in my signature. Love the CBR and am super excited to say that we just upgraded from Pop to our favorite, the CBR.

Original poster, please take a look at my trip report. I have lots of pictures of the Nemo themed rooms and of the resort. I also have some interesting pictures of the pool while it was still under construction. Just lick on the link below.
