Which moderate would you choose and why?

Even though we like the CBR better overall, I would go with the CSR because of the age of your kids and their need for a fun pool/slide. The theming of both pools is great, but our DD11 and her friends, 12 and 14, said that the slides at the CBR were not nearly as fun as the slide at the CSR. She does like the dining/shopping at the CBR better, though.;)

The pirate pool, as I understand from reading reports of people who have stayed there, is the KIDDIE pool - NOT the big, main pool. So, yes, 13 and 14year olds are too old for the kiddie pool. The main pool looks (to me) like a huge, free-form pool, with resort theming like the other 3 mods. So I don't see how anyone would be too old for that. :confused3

Our DD11 and her older friends liked the pool at the CSR better. They loved the new pirate theming at the main at the CBR, but said that it got boring quickly. The main pool at the CBR is not the kiddy pool, but even the main area pool just didn't do it for them. (There is a seperate kiddy area for young children with a pirate ship.) And yes, they have stayed at both resorts several times and really enjoyed them both.:thumbsup2

My teenage boys saw the entire newly renovated pool at CBR up close and personal during our stay, not just the kiddie pool, and thought it was geared towards little kids. That's their opinion. Thought the slides looked boring and lame. Can't tell a teenage boy what he's going to like or not like or what is cool or not cool. :rotfl:

I, on the other hand, thought it looked pretty darn cool. :goodvibes

They also didn't like the Nemo bedspread, which I thought would be adorable in a toddler's room.

These are the same boys that love Mickey's Philharmagic. :confused3

Just passing on their teenage boy opinions, if that helps anyone out there trying to decide.

We love, love, love POR. Great pool, not to mention the fabulous theming of the entire property.

I agree with this one, my favorite mod on property (granted I've only stayed at POR and CBR, but you get my point lol)

We also love, love, love POR!! Great pool, lush grounds and a great food court. Polite staff and when we stayed there, the bus service was pretty good!!

I think CSR would be the best for teenage boys who want to avoid too much theming.

From the pictures I've seen the Digsite pool looks amazing and the newly renovated rooms are very sleek and definitely not "un-cool".

As excited as I am for my upcoming stay at CBR I can see how the Nemo theme would not work for a teenage boy. Fortunately my son is only 2 so I have quite a few years to stay at the "uncool" resorts before he gets too much of an opinion about it. :rotfl:

We have stayed at all the mods and our favorite is the POFQ because it is the smallest of the mods so there are no large mobs at the pool or food court. The grounds are goregous and the staff are very nice...cannot wait to stay there again

We prefer CBR over CSR. I have not been on the new enclosed slide at CBR to be able to compare it to the slide at CSR. I did like the slide at CSR, but it is not enough to get us to stay at that resort again.

People really choose a resort based on a bedspread? I have to agree if seeing a Disney character in a bedspread is so frowned upon, why are you even at Disney?

Because he is a 23-year old adult and the bedspread does not appeal to him or the wallpaper...it reminds him of a child's room. He is going to Disney and loves it as much as we do. As I told him, he won't be in the room long enough to have to worry about it...he'll basically be sleeping there when not coaching his baseball team or touring the parks with his girlfriend. I think he has a right to express his feelings just as you have a right to express yours about your dislike of a certain resort. And obviously he didn't choose the resort based on the bedspread or he wouldn't be staying at the CBR, now would he?

If you read those "germ" threads, most people take the bedspread off as soon as they set foot in the room! :rotfl:

Coronado Springs is our favorite mod because it is the mod that is most like a deluxe.

I'm so glad you posted a pic! Don't you all think it would make a great bedspread for a little kid's room? I would have bought it in a moment for my boys' room back then. Really cute and the colors are bright and cheery. :goodvibes Sure beats the overused, typical sports theme kiddie bedroom. :thumbsup2

Kat,

My 24-yr-old disliked the theme too. I'm not sure why that's such an issue that a grown man didn't care for the looks of the bedspread. :confused3 I'd probably be more concerned if he did. :lmao:

I forgot to add that CSR has 2 queen sized beds instead of 2 doubles in a standard room. Have any of the other mods upgraded to queen sized beds?

My DS loves the pool and slide at CSR. Last summer I wanted to try a new resort, but both kids were disappointed enough that we went back to CSR. CSR also has a quiet pool in each section, but I have never seen the main pool overly crowded. CSR also has the best bus service on property from my experiences.

I agree that the Nemo rooms are very childish. I would not be happy looking at that decor for a week. I think the Nemo and Pirate themes make the resort feel loud and busy like the values, instead of the relaxing feeling I want in my resort. And yes.. I am 37 years old and love Disney. But that doesn't mean I want a character in my face 24/7. My DS doesn't like the main pool at CBR because the slide looks very short. If their new, enclosed slide is any better, I would love to see a picture. The short slides are no better than what they have at the swimming pool here, IMO.

My DS8 didn't like the Nemo rooms when I showed him a picture months ago, and he LOVES Disney (he would be happy with a pirate room though). I like the Nemo room :goodvibes

Look at this picture of a bedspread from an unrefurbished room at CSR:

So this isn't bright and colorful? Is anyone offended by this bedspread? Come on. Personally, I would not let a bedspread affect my opinion of a resort. You can really just take it off, or maybe just put the blanket underneath the bedspread on top of it so you don't have to look at it. Even if you think the nemo bedspread is childish, you are at Disney. You could consider a lot of things at Disney to be childish.

I'm still confused as to why some people are so personally offended that some people don't like the Nemo bedspread? :confused3 We're all just expressing our opinions. And you should be thankful that there are those who do not like the bedspread or something else at the resort and choose to go elsewhere, or else your favorite resort would be too booked for you to get a room.

Not liking the bedspread does not equate to not liking Disney. My teens also don't ride Dumbo, WtP, or Snow White, don't like character dinners or parades. That also doesn't mean they don't like Disney. They are more into the thrill rides and other things Disney has to offer. Thank goodness or those rides would be even more jammed up than they already are.

I apologize to any CBR fan that finds my boys' opinion on the bedspread personally offensive. It's really not meant to hurt your feelings. :grouphug:
