Which location of Ihop, Golden Corral would you visit?

We plan on having several breakfast meals offsite at places like Ihop, Waffle House or Golden Corral. We will be staying at SSR and at the Beach Club. Which locations of the previous breakfast hot spots would you recommend we go to?

I'd consider getting some breakfast in to save some time, but:

From SSR, I'd probably drive out to Apopka Vineland Rd (SR-535)

From Beach Club, I'd probably drive out to US-192.

That is the one meal of the day that my husband is super picky about. He likes a good breakfast and if I were to get him that onsite it would be around $100 each morning for four people. But I might slip in one at Kona.

Last year, I felt the Golden Corral on West Irlo Bronson was slightly better than the ones near Vineland or Celebration.

Also consider Steak and Shake on 535. They have cheap breakfast options that look pretty good.

We prefer Bob Evans on 192. Second choice is Perkins at Crossroads- very close to SSR.

Have you considered just staying at Embassy Suites?

I would not waste the time to drive offsite for breakfast at those places. There's a lot of traffic, those places are crowded and generally not a great experience. Also, breakfast is the cheapest meal you can eat at Disney. Go offsite for lunch or dinner instead. There are a ton of great places offsite for for lunch and dinner and you'll save a bundle over comparable Disney dining.

If you are going the parks, the morning is a critical time as the crowds are lower and you can do a few attractions without waiting in line for hours. Do you want to be at Waffle House or at the parks? It's just a massive time suck, and time is money at Disney.

Anyway, for some breakfast options not at your hotel, at SSR you could walk over to Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace at Disney Springs and eat their breakfast, which is excellent. I enjoy the breakfast buffet at Trail's End at Fort Wilderness and you can take the boat from there to MK. This is a short drive from SSR as well. If you don't want the buffet, you can order off the menu there.

I hope you change your mind about your off-site breakfast strategy. If cost is that much of a concern, I would not stay at the Beach Club and SSR as there are more affordable options that would leave you with enough money for breakfast.

People who are picky about meals do not eat at Golden Corral. Um, yuck. #AskingForTummyTrouble

As PP said, it is a total waste of time for sub-par food. From the time you leave your hotel until the time you get to the parks after breakfast at one of these locations, you easily wasted about three hours.

ETA:

If you insist on off-site try First Watch. I've only have only ate at the ones in Tampa, but there are some in Orlando area. https://www.firstwatch.com/menu/breakfastbrunch/classic-favorites/

I seen that place last night on You Tube, and was thinking of just that. I might very well seek them out.

Well it seems as though I won't have to go to far. They have one in Chattanooga. Who knew?

AngiTN, have you ate here before?

If you are staying at SSR it is approximately a mile and a half to Perkins at Crossroads - about 5-6 minute drive. You can get just about anything you want to eat for breakfast - freshly cooked. Eggs Benedict, omelettes, skillet breakfasts plus all the regular breakfast food.

You can park right in front. The meal would take less than an hour. And will cost a fraction of a Disney breakfast. It’s open 24/7 and breakfast is always available.

It wouldn’t take me 3 hours if I walked there and back.

My favorite breakfast spot in Chattanooga is Maple Street Biscuit Company. My husband wants to go back just to eat there again.

ETA: I just googled Maple Street Biscut Company and they have a few Florida locations. There is one in Gainesville and we were just in Gainesville last month. Oh, I’ll have to let DH know. Haha.

Well Perkins in Tampa is never busy so I don’t know what the wait time to be seated is in Orlando. I have only been in a Perkins once to use the restroom, but when I drive by Tampa Perkins there are hardly ever any cars. Most places (even IHOP and Waffle House) would have a wait time of about 45 minutes to be seated and then another 30 minutes from placing your order to recieve your food. Add that to the time to eat at a Relaxing pace, add in Orlando traffic and Disney parking time to get to the gate of the park... yes, three hours is my estimate. My daughter and her high school friends have been on a Waffle House kick where they go there after School sporting events and it takes them about two hours to go there, get seated, and finish a meal. This is a Waffle House just outside Tampa, not a tourist heavy location.

One other place is Hash House A Go Go.

I wanted to eat here in Vegas but DH thought the portion sizes were way too big for our eating habits. Every seems to love it and says it’s great. I might convince DH to try it on Orlando next time.

I can’t speak for Waffle House, but my DH and I have probably eaten at this Perkins at least 10 times. It’s never taken more than 2-3 minutes to be seated. I’ve never spent more than an hour there, and I am a very slow eater.

I would have never waited 45 minutes to be seated. I’ve never had to wait 30 minutes for my food to arrive either. I wouldn’t go back if it took me over an hour to get food to the table.

From SSR it’s only a short distance with 2 lights I think. Even with traffic it just doesn’t take that long to get there.

I enjoy eating at the Wave or Kona when we stay at BLT as it’s such a pain in the rear to go off property from there. But it takes me longer to get to either of those restaurants from SSR than to Perkins. SSR does not have a TS breakfast available.

I’ve never liked QS breakfasts - scrambled eggs taste like powdered eggs. And I’m not a fan of most breakfast buffets (except Boma) as I don’t much care for eggs that have been sitting out.

Hash House is great, but it’s not close by. DH will order a full breakfast and I’ll order something like an order of toast and share his meal.

We eat all the time at Crossroads, but it can take 20 minutes or more to get out of the parking lot if you are unlucky. Maybe it isn't as bad for breakfast, but the light to get out of there is super-short.

As an aside, a couple comments on getting out of Crossroads, because it can get nuts:

There's another driveway out if you follow between Chevy's and Buffalo Wild Wings. Problem is I think you have to turn right. From there, just drive up to the next light at Palm Parkway. There you can either make a U-turn (but eyeball traffic, it may or may not be bad heading back towards I-4 and Hotel Plaza Blvd), or turn left, drive a mile or two to the second traffic light (Buena Vista Drive) and make a left to head back in towards Saratoga Springs and Disney Springs or left at the 3rd traffic light (Vista Blvd) which takes you more towards Fort Wilderness and Magic Kingdom. These all add some distance to the drive, but beat waiting 20 minutes at that Crossroads traffic light.

I'll give that route a try next time. Leaving that parking lot is the worst part about eating there.

I'd recommend Keke's, First Watch, Peach Valley, or my personal favorite local spot: Dixie Cream Cafe.

If you want to go to breakfast at those national chain places, then I'd recommend you go to the ones near where you live. When visiting central Florida (or anywhere, for that matter), I always look for restaurants that we don't have in my area. Trying something different is part of the fun of travel.
