Which is your favorite resort pool?

SAB at the Beach Club.
We stay there every year.

It's DD15's & DS11's favorite pool! :thumbsup2

My girls are 10 and 6, and they voted Beach Club followed by CSR . The only problems with the Beach Club pool (from a parent's perspective) is that it is very spread out and hard to watch two at once if they are in different areas. Also, the access to the big slide is across the walkway (outisde the fenced area). If you will have two adults watching, it's no big deal - just assign each parent a child. The lifeguards at Stormalong Bay are also great and plentiful.

Beach Club adds the benefits of the walk to Epcot and boat to DHS, great dining, balconies (although are standing room only).

CSR is the best value at Disney, IMO. For half the price of Beach Club, you still get queen beds, an awesome pool, room service and great theming. You have to take the bus to all the parks, though.

We are looking forward to checking out the AKL pool on our next trip. I have heard that the AKL pool slide is a bit tame, but currently, AKL guests can also use the Kidani pool, which has a bigger slide and a kids' play area with a tipping bucket and spray features.

Storm Along Bay at Yacht and Beach Club gets my vote. This pool is incredible with a sand bottom and lazy river.

The new pool at AKL Kidani - that's the new DVC. Lots to do, beautiful, and brand new - so it's super clean. Plus there's a drink (soda) refill station right at the pool for refillable mugs! Finally Disney thought of this! The whole kidie play area is really neat.

Ya know....I wasn't blown away by SAB. It is cool that they have sand, but floats for the miniscule lazy river part were like $10 per hour - crazy. The lazy river part is also quite deep. It's akward enough getting in and out of a tube, the water doesn't need to be over my head, esp if I need my hair dry for dinner. It's nice they have a kiddie water slide, but the layout is a bit odd. The kiddie water slide is way away from everythign else, and the adult water slide entrance is also outside teh pool area.

I think most pools have some pros and cons. The values have no water slide, but ASMo has a cool splash park area for small kids. The little kids may also greatly enjoy that the pools at the All Stars have Disney characters. ASMo has Mickey. Pop's main pool is bland, but the kiddie pool is good and it also has a water jet play area with Goofy figurine.

The mods all have very good pools. The new one at CBR is REALLY neat. In some ways, it's not as unique as the volcano at Poly, say, but it has quite abit of stuff. Very similar is the new water area at the new AKL DVC. I think that one is the best! not only that, but if you are at the DVC resort, I'm pretty sure you also get to use the old AKL pool.

the old AKL pool I also like, but I couldn't really say why. There's nothing really all that exceptional about it, except the way it's nestled into the resort.
WL's pool is also similarly nestled into the resort. I think it's abit small for the reosrt, but the way the pool starts as a sping inside the resort is really neat.It has nice hot tubs.

Beyond that, The pools at CSr and POFQ are really nice. The CSR pool is very pictureesque and teh slide is great fun. POFQ has great theming for a child, but the hot tub at POFQ isn't as good.

The BWK pool slide is nice, but otherwise the pool isn't exceptional. It also has kind of a sheltered location - so in cooler weather that can be nice.

GF's pool is not as great as it should be. Poly's pool is kind of cool - BUT - there's no hot tub. Also the CM's giving out life vest are downright nasty! Unlike every other resort - they make you sign for the vests- at threat of a hefty fee! It's like they EXPECT youto be a thief - UGH! I don't want that at Disney - esp not at the almost most expensive resort on property. If I'm paying $400 a night - you are NOT going to treat me that way! They don't treat you that way at SAB, but they do make you show ID to enter. Poly also has a small water jet area for the kids.

The Contemporary has a pretty boring pool, but it was just rehabbed last year - so I can't say for certain all the details it now has. POR's also did little for me. SSR's is okay, but too small. I don't know Ft. Wilderness or OKW, except that ft. Wilderness' pool also just had a rehab. It got a hot tub and water slide.

As far as I recall, all of the following resorts - and only the following - have a zero depth entry pool: Poly, BC (sand bottom), old AKL, new AKL, CBR, Pop's kiddie pool, Contemporary, SSR. I don't know about Ft. Wilderness or OKW.

Oh, I like the Swan and Dolphin pool area. The theming is kind of inline with GF's, but the area is quite big. The Hot tubs are really neat, and several are tucked in nooks. They also have water volleyball, a beach, and the only olympic sized pools on property (The two quiet pools).

My goodness, when I see someone mention $340 for BC during value season I am dumbfounded that people don't try to rent thru DVC members. Sun - Thurs nights (5 nights) in a 2 bedroom at BCV is $300/night, no tax. DVC is totally the way to go and we have an AWESOME section right here on DIS boards to help you rent points. If you must stay longer, maybe move to a diff hotel for the weekend, a pain yes, but for the money DVC is the way to go!
And I think you all helped me make up my mind! At the pool my kids will stick together and DH is like a big kid so he'll be right with them the whole time while I bask in the sun and read - Yes, I am very lucky! Even if not for the pool, I do love the idea of the proximity to the other parks. Heck, I bet my kids wouldn't even mind walking to EPCOT and hopping the monorail (hoping to ride up front of coursse) to TTC and then to MK vs taking the bus. The monorail is another "ride" to them!!!
Thanks to all for the advice.

Actually, the price you pay for renting a reservation from a DVC member varies. It totally depends upon the member's asking price. Some rent for as low as $8.00/point & others for $13.00/point.

We stayed at BC for the first time for a weekend two weeks ago. I had seen SAB but could not believe how much we enjoyed that pool. BRING POOL NOODLES! We found the jumbo sized ones worked great for us adults, the kids got the standard ones, and it was much easier than dealing with the oversized inner tubes they rent for the lazy river.

We loved the lazy river and the "kiddie" pool (not over 2 feet deep with a beach area in the middle, sand over the entire thing). I was a little concerned that we would have a sand mess like the beach but the sand is bigger than at the beach and does not stick to you much. The whirlpool area is fun too. The pool was so big the kids didn't even feel the need to do the slide over and over, thank goodness, bc the slide entrance is a bit of a walk.

We somehow managed to snag Le Cellier ressies for both lunch Friday and dinner Saturday. Well, we loved that pool so much that we were actually considering ditching our Saturday reservation and just floating the night away! (we didn't though).

I must say I love the theming and layout of WL much better but the pool and location for BC can't be beat. We got a great deal with our passholder discount too, passholder rates have been awesome lately ($234/night for 9/18-9/20.)
