Which is more convenient? Alamo/Dollar

I am staying at The Polynesian and I am wondering if its more convenient to
rent a car at the WDW car center since I would be much closer to this location. I currently have a rental at Dollar at the hotel at DTD but I can get a rental for about $20.00 more at Alamo. I thought for $20.00 more it would be easier? Is my logic correct?

I don't know about Dollar in DTD but would you need to take a cab back from there? That would close that price difference . You will get a free shuttle back to the resort from the car care center. It would probably save you some time too , since DTD is farther away.

I have not used the Alamo at the Car Care Center (I refuse to EVER rent from Alamo after my one and only fiasco attempt LOL!) However, the Dollar was very easy to rent from. I took the bus to DTD and just walked to the Grosevenor (it's very close). There was one person in line in front of me and in just a few minutes they brought my car up and I was outta there!

From the Poly, the most convenient car rental would be Hertz at Shades of Green.

But you can ONLY rent at that Hertz if you plan to return the car there.....

For $20, I would go with the Alamo because it's closer and there's a feww shuttle available to/from the CCC. However, you might want to check if Dollar has a similar arrangement for shuttle service, I know Budget at one of the DTD hotels did. We rented from there a couple years ago, less than $200 for an SUV for 9 days, not bad at all! Anyway...also think about where you will be headed directly from picking up the rental, if you would be coming back toward the hotel or away in the other direction. But no matter what the answer to that is, if you have to fork over $$ for a cab to pick up, definitely Alamo. For what it's worth, I've never had trouble with them either at the CC or MCO.

Dollar at Grosvenor does have a free shuttle service. We have our ressie there as Alamo was $150 more.
