Which Highway in March

It has been so long since I have driven that I am not sure which highway to take. I know I-75 is the best in bad weather- but is March considered a prime month for bad weather?

When I have driven down in March I made my decision the night before we left. I checked the internet for weather forecasts at various places for the next day. My first choice for a route is I77, I79, I95 over the I75 route. I would check Erie, Pittsburg, Beckley and Statesville to decide whether it will be OK to take that route. I get a trip tik from CAA for both routes and book hotels that will let me cancel up until 4:00 PM without penalty. I then call and confirm/cancel the hotel that I plan on using that night.

Our family has always gone to WDW the first week of March and every time its been pretty bad, either from accumulated or blowing snow or just plain snow. I think that because we go at the end of winter there is always the risk of bad weather along the way. What was realy strange, last year it wasn't the canadian weather we had to worry about but the snow storm that hit in Georgia up in the mountains. That was a strange one for sure. But once we got there it was nothing compared to our bad weather but still worse than what we had left behind. All I could think about was all those drivers who have never driven in snow and were NOT prepared for snowy weather and who it will be that will slam into you. Anyway have a good trip and drive defensively. For piece of mind I would take the I-75
