Which Flight would you choose?

I can't make up my mind on this. We are going to WDW on 10/28 flying from Hartford to Orlando. There is a flight at 10:30 that has one stop (no plane change) and arrives at 2:25. Or we could take a direct flight at 1:05 that gets in at 4:05.

I hate stopping, but is it worth it to get their 1 1/2 hrs earlier?

I don't particularly enjoy flying, so for me, the fewer stops the better.

Also, with a stop, that's one more opportunity for something to happen, and delay you. With a non-stop, pretty much once you're in the air, you're in the air.

I would go for the non-stop.

I always pick the non-stop. I hate having to stop and go...just fly the darn plane and get me there!!! Even if it's a bit later...much happier on a non-stop.

The non-stop is a no-brainer for us. Although last year we booked a non-stop w/USAirways and they changed the flights and we had to go through Charlotte - not awful, just a bit of drag. We survived! :)

There is one non stop from Bdl to Mco on Delta, 7:30am-10:17am they will probably change the time once it gets closer. Last yr they changed it to 7am 9:52am. It's great to get there early, even if your room is not ready, we leave the luggage and head over to MGM or Epcot and call every now and then to see if we have our room yet. Oct . is a good time to go, cooler in the evening. We are heading down in Nov. Have a great trip.

I usually take that 730-1017am flight on Delta too. Also going in Nov and staying at BCV. When are you going in Nov? flying delta out of Hartford?

Take the non-stop. Less chance of your luggage being lost or mis-directed during the transfer.

Though I like non-stops I prefer getting to Orlando and starting our vacation as early in the day as we can (and I have to drive 2 to 3 hours from Vermont to get a non-stop to Orlando). I like to time our flights so we get in between 10 and 1. I always rent a car so we're able to pick up our luggage and get going pretty quickly. We like to go to BoardWalk for lunch and start our Disney immersion before heading off to the resort.
We try to do something similar when we're heading home by taking a late flight north. We'll spend some time at DTD or Celebration, or both, and having one last Disney late lunch or dinner before heading to the airport.

Hi newholidayx2,

We are going to be at the BCV Nov. 12th -19th. We fly non stop out of Hartford, did Song for the few yrs they were there, but now back to Delta, do miss the TV screens . Have been going in Nov. for yrs now, love the weather at that time of yr. This is your first trip that you will be there in Nov. & your first stay @ the BCV,the resort is wonderful and the time of year is the best, not too crowded except for Soap Opera Weekend on the 10th & 11th, but if your not interested in the Soaps, just skip MGM for those days. Have a great trip.

We always opt for nonstop if we have the choice. For the reasons mentioned, plus there's less of a chance of your luggage finding its way to another destination.

I think it depends on what you want to do on your arrival day. With the earlier flight you could have enough time to hit a park for awhile. If my family arrived to the hotel after 5 I wouldn't be able to talk my husband into spending a day off of the park passes. Flying is not exactly my favorite thing to do either, but I just don't understand the big deal about one more up and down. Have a great trip whatever you decide, you will be in DW.

I'd choose the non-stop. Even if you don't have to change planes, it still leaves another possibility for delays... fog, severe t-storms, etc. We tried that once and ended up arriving later than the later non-stop.
Unless you're someone who likes to rush straight to the parks, the later flight is fine. You can sleep in a little, eat lunch before boarding and have plenty of time to relax.
Good luck!:goodvibes

Unless the "direct" flight (a flight is "direct" when there is a stop but no change of planes) costs less than the "non-stop" flight - I would choose the non-stop.

If you have MYW tickets where an extra day after 5 costs only $1 or $2 more - I would still go to the parks on arrival day.
