Has anyone bought and used any of the thermo electric coolers on the market? I just bought the Igloo one that holds 32 cans. I know that Coleman also makes them. Any input on how they work is appreciated....especially the Igloo brand. Thanks!

Hi. I too am interested in these coolers. Please someone provide info on these for us. Are these able to replace refrigs or strictly for use in autos?

Thanks!

The one I bought can be used in a hotel ,dorm room, etc. if you buy a special adapter which costs about $40. Anyone with info on these coolers please respond! Thanks.

We bought an Igloo Kool Mate 40. It cools to 44 and heats to 155. It's about the same size as the fridges you can rent for $10 a night at any resort, and we picked it up for $90 at Target. You DO have to buy the adapter (around $35) to use it indoors, because they only supply the car adapter with it. We've been very happy with it. It holds a gallon of milk with plenty of room to spare.

we got a coleman think its 40-45 quart one it can stand up or lay down power cord was included for electric/ cig lighter adapter also. We paid 45.00 on sale at walmart ( marked down but brand new in box) and absolutely love it. We used it for our long drive down to WDW , plugging it in night before we left, packed cold items from home , and left it unplugged while driving checked it occasionally to make sure still good and cold, stopped over one night at motel on drive down, plugged in at motel overnight again. drove the rest of the way next am , without plugging in car battery, again things stayed very cold when we got to our resort plugged it in again right away and kept it plugged in through out entire stay, did the reverse on trip back home. It well paid for itself on one trip saving the 10.00 per night refrig rental at the resort.

We have had ours for 4 years now. It works great. We usually freeze a few plastic bottles of KoolAid. This kind of helps the cooler a little bit. We usually put things in that are cold. We leave it plugged in the car the whole trip down (11 hours), giving it an hour or so break in the middle of the trip. It was a great investment. Beats lugging ice!
