Which DVC resort for 3rd honeymoon??!!??

Hi! I am planning to surprise my husband with a trip to WDW in Sept. to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary and wondered which DVC resort to stay at! We stayed at WLV and BWV in February with our kids and liked both. BWV seemed a bit more commercial and geared towards familes as opposed to couples. We loved the atmosphere of WLV, but I was thinking it might be interesting to do something different. Have any of you seen Beach Club Villas yet? I know it isn't supposed to open until July, but I wondered if any of you might have seen enough of it to be able to give me an idea if it would be perhaps a bit more quiet and romantic than BWV... Also, which view do you think we should request? If it has exactly the same feeling as BWV, perhaps we'll opt for WLV again, however.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

BCV looks very nice. We went through the models in Feb. We stayed at the resort a few times and it's very nice, quiet, and great for a couple. You have some great dining options at BCV, Swan and Dolphin, and BWV. Dueling pianos is great fun, you can dedicate a song, have a few drinks and then take a nice stroll back to your room. The two parks are right there,plenty of time to spend walking together I would think it could be a nice relaxing, romantic 3 rd honeymoon. VWL also is beautiful. I have not yet stayed at the villas, but I did stay at the resort. I like the running trail that they have there, I am sure that could make for some nice quiet romantic walks......

I would also second the BCV choice. The villas will be brand new and they will probably be a little quieter since they are removed from the Boardwalk but you will still have all the advantages of the superior location.
The rose garden cottages at BWI are not DVC properties but they look very nice and romantic. Deb Willis has pictures of these cottages on her web site. Maybe you could save your DVC points for this trip and pay cash for one of the cottages. These cottages even have their own little white picket fenced front yard!

OK, wdwphanatic, when I read the opening to your post, "Which DVC resort for 3rd honeymoon?" the first thing that entered my mind is what did you do with your first two husbands

Trying athe new resort is a good idea and you would still be in the hub of the Epcot area. And I would suggest you request Epcot view at BCV.

I just meant (as I'm sure you now understand) that it's my first marriage, but just our 3rd honeymoon-type trip! We took a fantastic 2nd honeymoon trip to Jamaica 5 years ago for our 10th anniversary and I just wanted to do something special for our 15th!

Thanks for the suggestions/advice. I have been to BC several times -- though just to hang out by the pool and eat a few meals. It always struck me as such a beautiful, relaxing resort that I thought it would be great for this type of trip. I've stayed at both WL and WLV, so I know how great they are... Guess I just thought it would be fun to try something different! Glad you all agree that this would be a good idea.

I've decided to go for a studio at BCV for our 15th anniversary. I was thinking of opting for the Epcot view... Do you think this would be the best choice?? Let me know!

I thought that very few rooms (count 'em on one hand) actually viewed Epcot.

Think too, the one bedrooms have those in-room hot tubs. Just a little "honeymoon" thought.

OK - I'll be the odd woman out. I'd go to OKW. It's more secluded, bigger rooms, fewer points, closer to DD and PI. We love Portabello's and Adventurer's Club.

We own at BWV and OKW and I enjoy both. I agree that BWV is more commercial than VWL and OKW. BCV may be slightly less so, but I think it's still more "family" oriented with SB as it's main pool.

I'll agree with llp479 - I would suggest OKW too.

Much quieter than other resorts, nicer landscaping. More of a feeling of getting away from it all.

Also, the whirlpool bathtubs in the 1/2 bedrooms are much bigger than the other resorts - my husband and I love relaxing together in the tub after a long day at the parks.

I've already booked a BCV studio, however! Can't afford a 1-bedroom at the moment -- maybe for our next trip!! I've been to OKW to visit my aunt and uncle (that's their home resort) and really liked it, but I figured for this trip since we're so limited as far as time (3 nights), I'd opt to be more in the middle of things and yet (hopefully) at a place that might be a little quieter than BWV... Maybe I made a mistake, but I guess I can always try something different for our next vacation in 2003! If anyone has any additional info. as far as a good location for a studio at BCV, please let me know!

Those of you who've stayed for just a few days at BWV: what places have you enjoyed dining at in the area? Since we'll only be there for 3 nights, I figured we'd probably stay closer to BCV/BWV/Epcot for most of the dinners and wanted some recommendations from those of you who've spent a lot of time in the area!

That's cool that we'll both be celebrating our 15th anniversaries in Sept.! When precisely is yours? Ours is Sept. 12, but I've delayed the WDW trip 'til the last weekend of the month for a variety of reasons... Can't wait!!!

fkj2: We tried Brown Derby in Feb. for lunch and loved it. Haven't been to Le Cellier yet, but maybe this trip! Any other ideas??? Let me know!

We had are second honeymoon at OKW. Large rooms wiith nice views, romantic evenings on the balcony or nice walks along the canal. Evening boat rides to DD and days relaxing by the pool.

Ours is Sep 26th. We will be celebrating on Anna Maria Island on the beach!
