I want to stay at AKL with Savannah view.

BUT if it's not available which should I try ?

I would love to try the Poly, the Beach Club, but don't know if any of the others would be good either.

My dream is to stay at CR MK view but don't see that in the budget this trip even if it's available with the bounceback when we get there.

Depends on the park that you spend the most time at. If it's MK then go with the Polynesian if that theme appeals to you. Personally we prefer the GF. If you spend a lot of time at the Studios or EPCOT I'd recommend the YC/BC resort. The African theme does not appeal to my family, plus AKL is a little isolated for us so we have no plans to stay there, so I can't comment on AKL.

The Beach Club because of Stormalong Bay, being so close to Epcot and the Boardwalk.

Depends on the tastes of your family as well. Our kids love to swim, so the Beach Club is the best resort for that IMHO.

Agree if you like swimming, go for beach club

i will would to stay in the Contemporary because the monorail goes through!

1. Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk so I can walk to Epcot
2. Contemporary so I can walk to the MK
3. AKL for the animals and architecture
4. Wilderness Lodge for the architecture
5. Poly because of the atmosphere
6. Grand Floridian

In that order

Well I would have to say that Polynesian. I just love everything that I'm finding out about this resort.

Then maybe the Dolphin/Swan

We have stayed at the AKL, didn't like the atmosphere or isolation from the rest of the world. We began our Disney vacation at the Contemporary back in 1977, had many stays there, always north garden wing. Been once to the GF, not to our liking either. Y&B Club are great resorts, great pool especially if you play in EPCOT and the Studios alot. We're MK people and like the lakes in that area. We have stayed at the Poly a few times too but it just about out priced itself for our liking, same with the CR. We get the biggest bang for our bucks by staying at WL, great atmosphere, themeing and pool area. Its right on the lakes, boat ride to MK, FW and CR. We can get to the monorail via a boat to CR, we do spend time in FW, buffets and pizza, we enjoy the EWP just about every night and all for the good price, can't beat it.

Everyone has their reasons and favorites, but the last 5 trips to WDW, we've stayed at WL for 200 bucks more or less and have never regretted our stays, buses are no problem, they come at the same intervals as all the other resorts, the boat to the MK is a nice, refreshing ride and so is the one over to FW. Trail's End and Crockett's Tavern have some of the best buffet, american cuisine, and the pizza and pitchers of beer at night are refreshing, plus this area is about vacant of people other than guests going to the HDDR, its our excape from WDW reality place.

I am partial to the DVC resorts as I am a member.
If I were in your shoe’s, that is in the planning stages, I would check out the DVC rent /trade board under the Disney Vacation Club Forums and make sure you reads all of the Stickys. Did you know that you could get a studio at AKL for five nights Sunday though Thursday between $730 and
$803.00 depending on how much you spend on your points. $146 a night for a studio in a Deluxe Resort, that’s what I am thinking.

1st choice Beach Club Villas
2nd choice Boardwalk Villas
3rd choice Villas at Wilderness Lodge
4th choice Villas at Animal Kingdom
5th choice Villas at Old Key West
6th choice Villas at Saratoga Springs

Good Luck

My favorite resort is AKL savanna view:thumbsup2

If I could not get that I would pick.

2. BWV or BWI due to location, we prefer the 1BDR villa to the Inn just for the whirl pool tub and the extra room

3.Yact Club for location, atmosphere and pool SAB.

4. I would like to try CR some day with a MK view. Just appeals to me.

I am in the category that you should select where you would like to stay based on which park you would visit the most. So if it's the Magic Kingdom you can't go wrong with the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian or Wilderness Lodge. If it's Epcot and MGM then the Boardwalk, Yacht Club/Beach Club are all very nice Resorts. Of course if it's the Animal Kingdom then obviously you should go with the Animal Kingdom Lodge. However I agree with rcraw45425 that it's to isolated from everything else.

We've stayed at GF, Poly and Yacht Club
1.For convenience of monorail and proximity of MK ,Poly is great
2.Our favorite is the Yacht Club-walking distance to Epcot.MGM short boat ride and not a far trip to MK. It also has Stormalong Bay which is an amazing pool.
These three are all fantastic, it just depends onwhat your taste is.
You can't go wrong with any, IMHO:goodvibes

If you're spending most of your time at the MK, I'd go with the Poly. There is monorail and boat launch access to the MK plus, if you want to go to EPCOT, it's just a short walk to the TTC to get on the EPCOT monorail. The GF doesn't appeal to me very much but the CR would be my second choice.

If you're spending most of your time at EPCOT, I'd stay at the Beach club. Boat access to EPCOT and MGM plus you have Stormalong Bay. This is one of my favorite hotels to 'visit' while at WDW.

Can't comment on the AKL just yet. We'll be there in 10 days for 11 day stay and are really looking forward to it.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

It will only be the 2 of us. This is to be an adult only trip. So the kids will be staying home (they get to come for Chrismas so it's not like they can complain too much lol)

We plan to check out each park once. We figured we would go for 4 nights, and then go to Universal for 3 nights.

So since some like AKL and I've always wanted to see the animals. I love the look of sitting on the balcony and watching them in the morning while having breakfast !

I asked Dh is we could spend 2 nights at AKL and then 2 nights at the Poly.

Since it's just us two luggage shouldn't be a large deal. We could have them deal with the luggage transfer for us I think.

That way we could go to AK and MGM the nights we stay at AKL and then go to Epcot and MK while staying at the Poly !

I think that sounds like a good compromise because you get to experience two WDW Resorts. As for the question, yes WDW can move you're luggage from the Animal Kingdom Lodge to the Polynesian.

I'd advise doing the AKL first, then finishing with the Polynesian, since the AKL rooms are smaller than the Poly's. Otherwise you'll be wowed by the Poly rooms, then get the the smaller AKL rooms (same size as WL) and be disappointed in the size. That's how we did a split stay with WL and Poly.

It has already been scientifically proven that the Poly is the best deluxe resort.

Having said this, I agree with others. I'd consider which park you plan to spend the most time in. If it's MK, go with the Poly. If it's MGM and Epcot, think about the Y&BC.
