Which countries do most visitors come from?

i will say that in my experience the French Canadians are the worst and rudest guests i've ever seen.
Just wondering how you can tell French Canadian from just French?

This is an interesting question. Last October while we were waiting for Illuminations to start, my DD started a conversation with a lady standing next to us. She was from Germany. She talked to my DD during the entire show and my DD made a friend she'll never forget. She even tried teaching my daughter a few German phrases. Where else could that happen but Epcot pixiedust:

I agree with the French Canadian thing. I lived in Montreal for 16 years and they are the rudest drivers in the world.

Hi there everyone
We are from Liverpool and noticed a lot of guests from the UK, the 500 or so on our jumbo jet for a start !!!! However a lot of the Americans we spoke to on our trip thought we were Irish or Austrailian which I thought was really weird. However Liverpool is renowned for being one of the friendliest cities in the Uk, and I would like to feel that our family lived up to that tiltle but the people we met on our holiday were from many different countries and cultures and we had so many nice conversations and interactions it is easy to see why wdw is the happiest and most friendliest place on earth !!!!! :wave2:

I can tell you that the numbers for New Zealander visitors would be very low as it is really expensive as well as being a really long flight for us to visit WDW 05/19. Total flying time is about 20 hours.
New Zealanders and probably Australians too, would probably do DL as it is closer to us and cheaper.
Maybe that's why WDW gets more european visitors - because it is closer and cheaper for people on that side of the world.

Just my two cents.
Can't wait for my first trip to WDW - only 9 more sleeps as my DS informed this morning.

I go to the parks very often and I pay attention to the tourists and from where they're coming from. For the last couple of years British tourists are coming to Orlando in massive amounts. You're always going to have a lot of Canadian and South American tourists. And in my last visits from mid 2005 on I've noticed huge amounts of Japanese tourists, way, way more than in the past.Obviously the biggest chunk of visitors are from the good ol US.

There's probably more Canadians there than you think, since we can kind of "blend in". ;) I know the whole province of Ontario can seem to be in Florida during Spring Break time. Not too many from BC, but it's a loooong trip from the West coast!

A way to tell if someone's from Canada....if you step on our toes (accidentally, of course!) we'll apologize to YOU! :)

:rotfl: You mean Ontario is in Canada? :confused3 I was convinced that it was the 51st state. :rotfl2:

Then, there are a few of us who are American, but live in another country. The assumption based on accents and clothing would throw off the count.

I can see why so many people come to WDW and the USA from the UK. I was in London late last year and the dollar wasn't worth much when it was exchanged for the pound. America must not be that expensive for those from the UK and other countries. The dollar seemed to go a little futher with the euro in Spain.

That is true - the dollar has been good value for a little while now and will have pushed UK numbers up. That said I can remember loads of UK visitors when I first visited 16 years ago.

Would have thought the USA (and Florida in particular) was the about the third most visited holiday destination after Spain and France from the UK. Obviously has the advantage of being very much a "year round" resort.

hi
strangeley enough according to our travel industry tourism to florida is down quite a bit. i guess when we go we all go during our school/bank holidays. so we appear to be there en mass :)

mytwotinks You don't see a lot of man-capris in Kansas!!! .[/QUOTE said:
:rotfl2: nor in Ohio thankfully :scared1: , just picturing hubby's chicken white legs in capris

we noticed a lot of Spanish speaking but not sure what country...and have been there with the Brazilian youth groups also( ) and Japanese last time . never noticed anyone being particularly rude ( but the aforementioned youth groups)but it always amazes me how so many have so much disposable income since some are very young families and can afford such a big trip.

;) ;) Canadians are easy to pick out by the "aye" ( that could be only Ontario ) and maybe they are all those wandering around aimlessly as evidently they have a terrible sense of direction...(statistically 100%,going by the 6 we asked outside of Hamilton who misdirected us 6 separate times and had us driving around for literally hrs, back and forth, hopefully unintentionally, when we asked for directions in that area  like I'll ever get hubby to ask for directions again now :teeth:)

We are from Ireland :shamrock: and are always being asked if we are from Australia :confused3

I love all accents! Australian and Irish being my two favorites I could talk to you guys all day!

I don't know what you're talking about, eh? ;)

And I must admit, something about driving around in Orlando messes us up every single time! I have never gotten so turned around in my life! Even in the parks, we never use a map, never have a problem. Driving around any other city, we get around just fine. Kissimee/Orlando area? Name an exit and we've missed it....probably several times!
