Which Character meal would you recommend for DS8 and DD6?
We were thinking Chef Mickey's?

Thanks :flower:

On our trip in June we did almost all of the Character breakfasts. We stayed there for 11 days and did a character breakfast everyday except the one day that we were two lazy to get up. The only one that we liked better than Chef Mickey is the grand gathering at Tony's. You will need at least eight people above the age of three to do this. We also had a great time at O'Hana's and the Crystal Palace (Winnie the Poh). You do get tired of having the group photo's taken at each meal.

We haven't done O'hana's or 1900 Park Fare (we had ressies for this but canceled due to the reviews that there is only ONE character there for a half hour for a large restaurant, then switches off to ONE other character!), or Cape May. We've done Donald's Breakfastosaurus, Chef Mickey's, Princess Storybook Breakfast in Norway, Cinderella's Royal Table, The Garden Grill and Crystal Palace. We loved all of them, but Chef Mickey's is our traditional first night one and our one can't miss character meal (we always do dinner). Without all the pals there, the napkin waving, the monorail ride to see the castle all lit up........we just don't feel we've arrived in Disney World until it's done. We also really like to lunch at Crystal Palace to see Pooh and Friends, and feel like we should always have one princess meal.........we are fine with either Cindy's or PSB..........PSB has a couple of princesses you don't find at Cindy's, but doesn't have Fairy Godmother or Cinderella either. Now, if you asked our boys if they wanted to see the princesses, they'd say no (and our oldest did on our first trip), but we made that first Cindy's reservation so our oldest could eat int he castle..........and he enjoyed the princesses as much as eating in the castle. Every year they have fun at the princess meals, and I know they'd miss them if we didn't do one. So, we like one Mickey meal (and our traditional is Chef Mickey's), the Pooh meal at Crystal Palace, and either Cindy's or PSB for princesses, each trip.

I think it all depends on when you want to do the character meal. Our last visit to Chef Mickey's for dinner didn't impress me all that much with the food, and there were some instances where tables were missed by some of the characters if you weren't seated in the big main dining room.

That being said, I think Chef Mickey's is still one of those character meals you should try for, but I might suggest that you do it as a breakfast. If you do decide on Chef Mickey's try to ask your server if you can be seated in the larger dining area that you will see directly in front of you behind the glass wall. This seems to be the best area to catch all of the characters.

We also enjoyed the Character Dinner at Crystal Palace which features Pooh. You will see Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore.

While personally not experiencing it myself, I have heard several good stories regarding Ohana's meal at the Polynesian.

We really didn't care for Chef Mickeys for dinner at all. Out of 6 character meals we did on our trip last August, it was our least favorite. Our boys are 8 and 4 and prefer Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern at Mk and the Garden Grill at Epcot. They also liked the PSB breakfast and Donald's breakfastsaurus.

Thanks for the replies! My DS would like either Mickey or Pluto and DD would like Minnie Mouse. Still can't decide if we should do Chef Mickeys or Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. :hippie:

We have been to CM twice and had a wonderful time each time. Good food and great character interaction. For our trip spring 2007 I plan on booking CM again. But since DD11 and I are such big Stitch fans we plan on booking Ohana also for our trip. So looking forward to both.

Our family is going with a 9 and 5 year old and we are planning on going to Chef Mickeys! When I was young, that is where my parents always took me when we went to Disney! They have great food, the ambience is nice with the monorail going by, and the kids LOVE seeing Mickey and Minnie! It is one of the more reasonable breakfasts also, from what I can see with prices. Have fun! :cool1:

We did Chef Mickey for breakfast that was fun. But if it's a chose of chef Mickey or Liberty Tree, I would choose Libery Tree. Sorry Mickey
