Just curious- is there a website or has anyone kept track of the bus stops at each park and which ones are the closest to the part exit?

We have stayed at POP a bunch of times and thought they were the farthest(at least it felt that way at the end of the day!)
I am going in August with the family to POR and in October with the girls to CBR. I am curious to where the bus stops are....

Anyone:confused3

They can and do change. Pop is one of the closet at HS.

CBR is by Pop at Epcot, so it's far. I think it's the same at MK also, it's over by Pop, All-Stars and CSR so it's further away.

IDK about POR though, sorry.

Is there no websie that has this information? I know i have gotten all kinds of WDW info here. I know someone has had to have jotted this stuff down.

Am I the only one who would consider booking a place that has a shorter walk to the bus stop?????

Come on people- I know someone out there knows the answer!!!!!popcorn:::rolleyes1 lol

I never really paid too much attention, but DH pointed out to me on our last trip, that it seemed to him that the deluxe resort bus stops seem to be the closest to the front gate, then the mods, then the values. He told me THAT was the reason he liked staying deluxe ... shorter walks

I can assure you that this is not true. We stayed at the GF this year and the BC last year and neither time were our stops at the front of the park. At AK the GF stop was at the mid-way point when we were there and at HS it was the second from the last.

As one other posted mentioned the stops can and do change. That may be why it may be difficult to find out this information.

Your best bet would be to find somewhere who is there now who would look for you although there is no guarantee that things wouldn't be moved around by the time you get there.

well, our last trip we stayed moderate, and we usually stay at deluxe, and it seemed to me that EVERY bus stop we were at, he made the comment about how if we had stayed deluxe again, we wouldn't have to walk so far... and of course, I pointed out, (this was at Epcot) that it seemed the values were even further away (however, most bus stops divide into two (or even three) directions, and of course, there are some deluxe, mod, and value on EACH section......

The information below can and does change at any time; in fact, it may already be inaccurate:

At DHS, Pop Century is one of the closest stops to the park entrance.
At AK, granted, Pop and the All Stars are on branch C - but they're the closest stops on that branch. This makes them about even with, or closer than, the furthest resorts on branches A and B.
Yes, at MK, they may be the furthest stops on the right-hand side - but that makes them only a true few steps further than the direct opposite bus stops on the left-hand side.
Only at Epcot are the Value resorts the furthest out.

Old Key West is the first stop at MK and DHS. Didn't use the bus for Epcot because EVERY bus stop is too far away.

I don't think it makes a difference which locations the buses stop at because they can always change locations. Also here is something I noticed at the Hollywood Studios bus stops. When coming from the Contemporary we would be dropped off at one of the closest locations to the main entrance, however it was not their designated location. Instead the Contemporary/Polynesian/Grand Floridian stop was one of the farthest ones from the entrance when we were walking back to the bus station.

Disney buses usually don't go back to the same resort they came from; when they do, it's just coincidence. In the morning, the buses usually aren't picking up for a resort, so they drop off at any load zone that happens to be open; many drivers try to get the guests as close to the entrance as possible. In the afternoon, the bus drops off at the load zone for the resort it's picking up for, not the resort it's coming from.

As for which load zones are assigned to which resorts; it has a lot to do with the queue size. The load zones with the largest queues are generally furthest from the park gate, and the budgets and moderates generally have the most guests. That's not a hard rule, but it definitely seems to be a consideration.

I am so happy that you asked this question. I specifically came to the Dis transpo thread to see if it was asked before I asked myself! I am curious too. I have stayed at all levels, Value, Moderate and Deluxe. Seems like no matter which one I am in, we are never close. Esp. at the end of a long day at the park. The thought of tired feet, tired kids, a way overstuffed backback and a stroller I have to fold before getting on the bus...ugggg...Thank goodness we can send our packages to the resort via the shops! I just dont know how we have the energy to push that final 15 minute walk to a bus stop with another 15-45 minute wait for an bus to the resort that could be standing room only....Makes driving my POV to the parks, which we always lucky to have with us, very appealing. And what is up with the super steep ramps to the monorails!:confused3

OK rant over. I am very glad you asked the question. From the other posts, I understand now, everything is subject to change. Maybe everything seems so far because our fam is indeed tired from the day. Don't get me wrong, I am grateful for every visit to the world. And the long hauls to the bus stops wont make or break it for me. But sure would be nice to know what to expect as far as additional travel time to the bus stops to leave the parks as it relates to our resort.

Thanks again. I think it was a great question!:thumbsup2

I know the answer....there isn't one. The bus stops can, and do, change, with little notice. So, I can tell you where the GF bus stop is at DHS today, but when you get there in January, it may be in a different spot.

Booking a resort based on where it's bus stops are located is just not a good idea. Pop has the furthest bus stop at Epcot and MK. But, at DTD and DHS, it is one of the closest resort bus stops.
I routinely stay at BW, and there bus stops are seldom close to the park exits. More towards the middle.

The deluxe resorts are deluxe based on their other transportation options.....monorail, boat, or foot access to a park. Not on where it's bus stops are situated.

If you are going to be tired at the end of the day, I would recommend leaving the park a bit earlier then. You won't have as long a wait in the bus line and you won't be as tired.

You're generally dropped off at the resort bus stop the driver is going to be boarding departing guests. It makes no sense for your bus driver to drop you off at the Contemporary area then move his bus to the POP stop to board departing guests. Not to mention the problem with waiting Contemporary guests boarding the bus without reading the destination sign.

I normally stay at the Swan or Dolphin, but stayed at AKL and WL last December. I ended most days at Epcot, and I REALLY missed staying at the Swan when I had to walk to the bus after leaving Epcot!
