We are going next week and just trying to get an idea what buildings are open for guests/accomadations.

The above url has anticipated opening dates, how accurate are they?

We have 2 small children ages 5 & 4 and need advice as to which area to request. We would like to be near the childrens pool, near a bus stop, but yet a view of downtown disney....is this all possible?

Thanks for all help

We just got back. The only buildings open right now are the 4 in Congress park. The bus stop is close to all of them and most rooms have views of DTD (we had an awesome view!) The quiet pool is right there, but the feature pool with the kids' water area is a short walk (5 to 10 min). You can also catch any bus going to the parks and get dropped off near the pool.

I was told the next building would open in MArch.
Have a great time!

I believe that they are current to the opening of each building on the map. So they would be up to Jan 05 now. We were there in June 04 and I have to say that we got in the second building that opened. It was an amazing view of Downtown Disney out of room #2345 a 1BR on the third floor. I really recommend that area of buildings. We enjoyed the pool near there as well as the Children's pool area (but had to drive over there). It was a little more quiet and relaxing. Also the playground was right there. Now I have heard that the buildings near the main pool (#14 on the map) has great access to it and the Artist Palette. The newest buildings to open are out there and I would have to drive to the pool or a very long walk. We will be there in Feb and can not wait to see SSR.
Good Luck in your decision. Hope that I have helped a little.

Can you tell me the name of the building that you were in. Sounds like this would be a great room to see if it is available. We will be switching from CBR to SSR on Sunday. Thanks for your information.

Gosh I hope I am right about the other building as people have been staying in them I thought. Maybe the last stage of buildings start opening in March.
We were in Congress Park. If you look at the map, building of the left side of the pool. You can request the actual room number or near it. I have to say that the higher you are in floors the better to see out the window at DTD and the fireworks at Pleasure Island each night. We could lie in bed and watch fireworks! What a treat for our late night kids!
Have a magical stay!

Barry's map is NOT correct.

Only the four buildings in Congress Park are open. Those are the four on the map listed as "Open", "July 04" and "August 04".

The three buildings in "The Springs", which are labeled "September 04" through "November 04" do not actually begin opening until March '05. The five remaining buildings along Union Avenue (aka "The Paddock") will not open until at least late 2005.

Yeah when we were there in Nov 21st to the 28 the only buildings open where the ones in Congress park (DTD view) So I would say they are off in their opening dates.
