We have two girls that will be ages 7 and 5 when we return to Disney. I am wondering if anyone who's done any of these activites at Disney can tell me what they thought of them. Oh, the tea I'm referring to is not the $200 one. Thanks.

Hi, My DD has done the Alice tea and the pirate cruise from the Grand Floridian. She had rave reviews for both.

I'd say out of the 2, I'd pick the pirate cruise. They get 2 hours on the "high seas" looking for pirates. There are several stops along the way & they do find a pirate & treasure. DD talked about this cruise for a long time. A tip- send a disposable camera with your girls.

The Alice party is an hour. They get to decorate there own cupcake, have apple juice tea with Alice & the Mad Hatter, and there is a treat for Mom at the end. Definatly bring an autograph book. My DD brought Mardi Gras beads in the shape of mushrooms for Alice. She wrote a sweet thank you to her in her book. You also get a picture with Alice & Mad Hatter (can't remember the size, 5x7 maybe?).

Like I said, it's a hard call between the 2. Both are well worth the money & we plan on doing them again with our younger DD.

Good to know! I booked a pirate cruise for my DD(7) and was a little worried-but you have given me confidence she will have fun! Thanks

My DD was 5 when she went & loved it. Your DD will have a great time. My Dd is almost 8 now, & she still tells people about the pirate cruise. Next time we go, I'm sending her again.

They don't allow parents to go (unless your child is special needs), but they are in good hands. I was nervous, but the CM know what they are doing. The children have to keep their life jackets on at all times & are constantly supervised. It's so cute to see how nervous some of the kids are when they start out, but they don't want to leave when it's over.:goodvibes

They get a lunch on board (my DD didn't like it, so you might need to get a snack before they go) and a small treasure chest filled with goodies (think party favor goody bag stuff).

Plus, you get 2 hours to do what you want!

Have a great trip!

My oldest DD did the Pirate's Cruise a few years ago and had a lot of fun on it! She did the one out of the Grand Floridian.

Just a note, but I think the Adventures in Cooking has been discontinued (or will soon be). Good luck deciding!

we have done all three...the cooking they were really excited about but didn't seem to enjoy it in the end as all they did was put stuff in a plastic container and pass it out in GF lobby--they did get mega cute mickey chef hat with ears though on that one...
they both loved the tea party and pirate cruises. they have done two different cruises and loved them both. they have done the mad hatter tea party twice also and loved it...

Could someone point me in the direction of more info for the Alice tea? I've only read about the $200 one. Is there one that's cheaper?

Found this for ya-

Even children can experience some of the charms that the Grand Floridian has to offer in one of its most recent offerings, the Wonderland Tea Party. At this pint-size tea party, guests from 3 to 10 years of age will hear stories, have a little lunch and be entertained by some Disney characters known to participate in a famous tea party of their own. The children will take a "hands-on" approach to their dining as they finger-paint/decorate their own cupcakes and munch on heart-shaped peanut butter and jam sandwiches. Chocolate dipped Rice Krispie squares, and the Grand Floridian's special brand of children's tea (aka apple juice) is also served.
Lunch includes: Heart-shaped Peanut Butter and Jelly, Ham & Cheese, Decorate-your-own Cupcakes, Assorted Fruit, Chicken Nuggets, and Apple Tea (Apple Juice)

The ""Wonderland Tea Party" is offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the cost is $28.17 plus tax per child. There is a maximum of 25 children to ensure that each child gets a lot of personal attention from the entertainment (Mad Hatter & Alice usually, but this is subject to change) and the recreation Cast Members. Parents are welcome to stay and observe the fun, but may prefer to use the time to book a spa treatment, shop (in the elegant Grand Floridian shops), take a walking tour of the beautiful grounds, have a quick lunch at the Grand Floridian Café, rent watercraft at the marina or just sit and enjoy the ambience of the magnificent lobby. Call (407)WDW-DINE to book this or check with Guest Services at the resort. This can be booked 90 days in advance. Cancellations must be done at least 24 hours in advance or there is a $10 no show charge. Children attending the Tea Party must be potty trained and must arrive 15 minutes prior to tea-time.

Also, you may want to go ahead and call to see if all three are still available. I couldn't decide last year and by the time I made up my mind they were all booked except the river cruise from Port Orleans. They still liked it, but it wasn't my first (or second or third) choice.
