Where's all the T-Rex Love??

I love t-rex. I love the atmosphere and I love the food. I've eaten there twice and both times it has been good. I am planning on eating there at least once when I visit in October. Both times I've gotten the barbeque pulled pork sandwich. It is so good. I love there french fries. In my opinion this place is way better than the rainforest cafe, which I wasn't impressed with.

We live in Kansas City with a T Rex restaurant locally. Since we dine there occasionally at home, we don't eat there during vacation.

But I agree with you, the atmosphere is good for boys. DS7 enjoys it. Food is OK.

Our Ratings of Rain Forest Café & T-Rex Cafés:
NOTE: The portions are pretty much commiserate with the price.
Bit of a Freudian slip, there? :lmao: I would definitely take a kid there for the experience, but would be sure to take my Excedrin pre-emptively and not have high expectations for gourmet food. I thought it was about what you'd expect for chain restaurant food. Very cool looking inside, though. My son is an Aspie kid and doesn't like loud and startling noises, so he wasn't a big fan.

We went on our trip a few years ago predining plan. I don't know that we will go again. The food took forever and the kids hated the noise level. My daughter crawled into my lap everytime the thunder went off.

Went to T-Rex for the first time last year. That place is by far the best restaurant on Disney property. It's got something for the whole family.

My DD8 and DS5 sat at our table in awe and just taking in the sights during dinner.

I'm guessing it doesn't get a lot of respect because it's not a Disney owned establishment.

The atmosphere, the food, and service were all excellent.

Can't wait to spend our first night there to start our trip off right.

We really enjoyed T-REX, but large groups BEWARE!!!!!!!

If you are a large group ( we were 25 our first time, 17 our second ) they WILL require you to fill out a CONTRACT to make a reservation with them. They will also require a minimum meal payment. I'm sure there are ways aroudn that by booking several small reservations, but then you are not guaranteed to be together. ( In fact, this recently happened to us at Rainforest Cafe, where we were all at different ends of the restaurant ).

So, fun place, good food. Not exactly large group friendly...

I have been to T-Rex several times. I do agree with the PP's about the food being mediocre. Although there are three (3) items I like. I usually make this my meal, just to have the desert.

I get the Brachiosaurus Bruschetta (yummy), Asteroid French Soup, and my favorite, the Ice Age Indulgence (so yummy). The last few times I went I had a $10 coupon. I haven't seen any this year, though.:sad1:

We really enjoyed TRex. DH and I thought the colosso nachos were awesome. We split the chicken fried steak, which was HUGE. It tasted good, but I wouldn't say it was amazing. The kids enjoyed the atmosphere, and still talk about it 2 years later. We look forward to going back.
