Where would you choose to go on vacation if....

Switzerland or Tokyo

Or a Narrowboat/Canal boat trip through England's canal systems

Switzerland sounds lovely.

I have already been to the far east and visited a lot of countries when I was stationed in the Phillippines so I was thinking about someplace new.

We've enjoyed our visits to Europe so my new top spots would be:

South Africa for a safari
Viet Nam

A Safari sounds wonderful. I will definitely do some research.

Japan

We went last summer and we are going back again. They treat you like a King and Queen!
It's different, and beautiful. Plus Tokyo Disney is there!

Where in Japan did you visit and what were some things that are must do. Thanks IA.

I'm boring.. I'd want to go to Texas - a place I have always wanted to spend some time..:goodvibes

Wow, that's a surprise! Texas is such a huge state. Would you want to just travel around or spend your time in one or two specific cities? I'd be shocked if you wanted to come anywhere near our part of the state!

I think I'd want to go to Italy and Germany. DS toured there last summer for several Jazz Festivals, and some of the kids in his band kept saying "This is just like Epcot only real!" I want to see that.

Deb, Egypt and Russia sound great. What would you suggest seeing and doing.

Well, I've always wanted to see the pyramids, the Sphinx, the Valley of the Kings, etc.

As for Russia, well, I'd want to see the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, Red Square.

After arriving in Tokyo we went to Yokohama.
Mount Fugi my DH is an artist and painted a picture for me when we got home, it is beautiful..., Landmark Tower which is the tallest building in Japan it is in the Minato Mirai, Nishi-Ku perfecture of Japan which takes a day to tour. The buses will take you around but we walked all day and into the night and saw everything in the area. Red Brick Building, Ramen Museum, Silk Museum.ChinaTown in Yokohama which is a day trip. The Nippon Maru (tall ship Japan), Cosmo World. The japanese fish market, Sogo Bay Quarters which is an experience in itself.
We also went to Shrines and Temples. If you go bring your walking shoes! I lost 7lbs. DH wore a stepper and one day we walked 27,000 steps. I'd say we walked at least 15k each day.

Next time we are going to Kyoto, and maybe a day/overnight trip to Korea (my son is going to Korea for 3 days this Christmas so it depends on his review he is really excited to go).

The service was the greatest we have ever experienced or could have imagined. The people were so nice. We were lost one day in a city trying to figure out where we were on a map and a Japanese man stopped on his way to work and we pointed on the map and he brought us to our destination which was the opposite direction to where he was walking. We experienced this type of interaction everywhere. Amazing Culture, I miss it.
If you decide to go e-mail me with questions. I planned the whole trip myself, didn't use a travel agent just the internet and everything went so smoothly I have to pat myself on the back!!

I'd love to go to Europe. I really want to go to London, Paris, Amsterdam. Check out Austria and Spain. Someday...someday...

I would love to go to Greece, followed by England, then France. Hey, throw Italy in there too! I guess I would just do all of Europe!

I really want to see more of Europe - have only been to eastern europe. I also want to see Iceland.

Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, or Paris.

I would have so much fun doing internet research before deciding!!

I hope you have fun choosing where you want to go! :)

Europe, especially Italy, Greece, Spain, France, and a jaunt to Norway.
Hawaii, Jamaica, Tahiti, or really any island paradise.
Australia

Lynne, Thank you so much for the review and all of the places that I would need to see. Many years ago when I was in my early twenties I went to Okinowa and Tokyo and didn't enjoy all that was offered ans spent most of my time shopping. I was a foolish young girl. I'll PM you if we decide to go to the Far East.

If you want some ideas of things to do while in Korea PM me and I will send you a list of must sees. I was born there and have been lucky enough to have visited several times with my parents while growing up and on my own in my twenties and eary thirties.

Just the two of you? Any set amount of time?

I'd say either Italy or Hawaii.

Maybe a little different but I've had my eye on Mallorca for a long time too.
