I was a sophmore(sp?) in High School...think it was geometry..

It was my day off, and I was eating lunch with a friend at Munch's Diner in St. Petersburg, FL. We watched it take off on TV, then went outside to see the vapor trail. By the time we saw it, it had already exploded, and we saw the Y shaped trail.

I was grooming a dog in my kennel. I had the TV on for days afterward. I always watched everything about the space launches I could. I miss them always being telecast. I think that incedent is why they don't do that so much any more.

Wow, you're a youngun', shep! ;)

I was driving to work.

I was walking through the Engineering building at college heading for the club I belonged to. Someone in passing asked if we'd heard about the shuttle blowing up. We all turned and walked to the student center where there were TV's. It seems like just yesterday.

It was a rare snow day and we were home from school. We saw it live......:(

i was in school -- 2nd grade, i think.

Shep, are you sure you were a sophomore (you were a year ahead of me)? I thought I was a sophomore in English class when we saw it on the tv.:( I remember my teacher's expression quite clearly.:( Wasn't that in 86?

I was in school when it happened, 2nd grade I believe, I remember them gathering us all in the lunch room to pray for the families of those who died. My mom and brother saw it explode. :(

I was home from work, I can't remember why. I thought it was neat that I'd actually get to watch it, it took a little while for what happened to really sink in.

aw shucks...:o
thanks..;)

I had just returned home from my OB appointment, as I was expecting our second child. We had chosen the name 'Christa' (months ago) if it was a girl. I cried and cried when I saw the coverage, and will never forget the name we chose was the same as the teacher who died that day. We had a healthy baby boy a few weeks later.

I was at work. This really upset me, I cried all day :(

Yes..it was..I was a Junior...
Didn't really take it in til i got home...:(

I was in my 7th grade English class and I can still remember my teacher being pulled into the hallway. When she came back in she put the TV on and it watched it on TV. :( Most of the rest of the day each teacher would discuss it and such. My brother was just 2 weeks old when this happened.

I was in fifth grade that year, and I had stayed home from school that day because I was sick. I remember I was watching Scrabble on TV - one of my favorite game shows. I was mad when the show was interrupted for the live coverage because I wanted to see who would win. I figured the news brief was something boring like the president talking somewhere or something. I was shocked when I saw what happened and didn't want to turn the TV off the rest of the day.

A few years later, I was in a summer school (for fun - I think that year was the year I did the cartooning class) and a bunch of us were talking about where we were that day. Turns out in a class of about 20 kids, 4 of us were at home sick that day and three where watching Scrabble. Weird.

I was at my mom's house while h was in georgia finding an apartment.
I was watching tv and dusting and I couldn't believe it at first.

I was in my Sophomore World Cultures class - remember it vividly. Our teacher rolled a tv into class and we all just stared blankly at it in disbelief- it was surreal.
