Just back last night from our 10 day stay...It was our first visit to WDW and we loved the the food!

We arrived at POFQ around 8 p.m. and headed immediately to DTD on the ferry. We ate at Wolfgang Puck Express. Yum. I had the bbq chicken pizza, dd had the mac and cheese, and dh had a pasta dish (can't remember exactly) All were good. For dessert we shared tiramisu, creme brulee, and cheese cake...they were out of anything chocolate much to my dd's dismay...but she ended up liking the tirimisu...the desserts were good, not great.

On our first full day we ate breakfast in the room and then headed to Epcot. We had lunch with the princesses in Norway, which was very enjoyable for our first day. I had the vegetable tart, which was good, but not great...dh had the salmon, which was very good and dd had pasta with meatballs which she liked...both dh and I enjoyed the appetizer plate and we all had a lovely time with the princesses. For dinner we ate at Tangierene Cafe. YUM! We loved this place. We ordered 2 chicken and lamb schwarma platters and some moroccan beer and orange coffee with waters and shared. Everything was so delicious....Can't believe this is counter service! The pastries are delicious as well...

Our second day we slept in ( we could not get used to the time change) and headed to DTD when we finally got up and ate at Earl of Sandwich. I had the All American turkey, cheddar, cranberries...very tasty...dd had pbj...dh had a ham and jarlsburg sandwich (forgot the name) which he loved...again we ordered desserts-brownies-to take back to the room for later. We spent a fun afternoon at DQ...That night we ate a fantastic dinner at CA Grille....What an awesome experience we had...The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was incredible and the service was great. To start, I had the crab and lobster salad and dh had the snake in the grass sushi....both were fantastic...Both dh and I had the salmon with polenta and it was delicious- some of the best I've ever had...for dessert I had the chocolate vahlrona cake with mint chip ice cream and dh had meyer lemon buttermilk shortcake with a lemon kumquat sauce...it was delicious....dd had cheese pizza and a chocolate sundae...we had a bottle of chardonnay and cappucinos with dessert....the dining plan really paid off on this dinner....not to mention the fireworks in between dinner and dessert -- the whole evening was just magical! ...and as if that wasn't enough, we went to MK after for EMH and rode all the mountains and several other rides with little and mostly no wait!

For our third day, (another late start) we spent the afternoon at Animal Kingdom and had lunch at Tusker House. We split the rotisseree chicken and the veggie sandwich. Both were good...loved the green beans...For dinner we ate at Boma, which we all loved. Everything was so good! dd especially enjoyed the desserts...she ate 4! I loved the soups the best...but everything was good. We were stuffed when we went back to AK for late hours!

On day 4, dd and I had the Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the Grand FLoridian, while dh did the segway tour. The tea sandwiches were good, but not the best I've had...The experience, however, was outstanding! what a memory! Dh had sushi and German beer for lunch after his Segway tour...Yum dd and I also got a bite at POFQ food court to tide us over til dinner....yuck! The food was not very good there...had a beefsteak sandwich...she ate canned peaches which she loved....for dinner we headed to OHana....Had to wait about 20 min. for our PS, which was just fine with us as we sat in the bar sipping our tropical drinks...we loved this resort....dinner was Great! One of dh's favorite meals of the trip...all the meats were juicy and flavorful...the dipping sauces were yummy and the appetizers were all very good...we all gobbled up the pineapple dipped in caramel...another great dinner!

On day 5 we did the family magic tour in the a.m., so we headed over to the Poly after for a nice cool lunch at Kona Cafe. I had a lovely salad to start...greens with bleu cheese and strawberries and the blackened mahi with sticky rice, which was very good, dh had the Asian Noodle Bowl, which was good, but I thought not flavorful enough...dh had crabcakes for a starter, which were good....for dessert, dd had the kiddie cone, which is probably the best dessert she has ever had! Her dream dessert! dh had the apple crisp. He said it was very good.. and I had the banana creme brulee, which tasted great with the presspot of coffee we shared. Nice lunch... That night we ate at Wolfgang Puck again. dd and I had pizzas-the margherita and the 4 cheese and dh had lasagne. It was all good...we were getting sick of so much dessert at this point....so we took some to go can't remember what...

On day 6 we did Epcot Future World so we ate at the Land food court, which was incredibly good! what a nice surprise to find good food at a food court and healthy too! dh had the ahi salad and I had the chicken salad-both had delicious dressing and lovely, fresh greens...dd had chicken stir fry with noodles and broccoli-finally a different choice for kids that actually included veggies! Desserts here were good as well and we got sides with our meals on the plan so I got some bags of cheese popcorn that were great for snacks for dd. I would definitely eat here again. We had ressies for Flying Fish this evening and walked over from Epcot...thes meal was good, but for us didn't compare to CA Grille. We had crabcakes and calimari appetizers and shared. dd had a romaine salad to dip in ranch dressing-she loved that...her dinner was great-steak and fries...I had the potato wrapped red snapper-very rich...I felt it would be better on a cold winter evening...it was good...just not as good as the salmon at Ca Grille was...dh felt the same even though he liked his ahi which came with a philo tart....I had a peach tart with ice cream and a pistachio cookie and dh had the chocolate vahlrona cake...dd didn't want any dessert! That was a first! We were definitely getting too much dessert on the dining plan! Overall, it was a good dinner, but we would probably try something else next time.

On day 7 we did MGM...had lunch at the Backlot Express...burgers and a chinese chicken salad...not very good...but filled us up....For dinner we took the boat over to Epcot and ate at Marrakesh. We loved this! Awesome food and atmosphere. The belly dancer was great. dh and I both had the Royal feast so we could try everything and it was all delicious! We had moroccan coffee with our pastries for dessert. This was one of our favorite meals of the trip!

Day 8 was a bit of a bust for me as I wasn't feeling too well...we swam all morning after having some beignets and coffee in the room. Yum. Then we headed to AK and had lunch at Tusker House again. I had the salmon and green beans which was very good and dh had the chicken...dd had mac and cheese...we tried to eat dessert, but just couldn't do it! It was a hot day and I just kept feeling worse...so after doing some must-sees, we headed back to the room and I slept. For dinner we heated up some left overs and split a chicken and ribs platter from the food court with a fruit cup for dessert. I just ate a little and went back to sleep.

On day 9 we slept in for awhile after eating a bagel and breakfast sandwich from the food court in the room...Then we spent the day at Typhoon Lagoon and I finally began to feel better...dh and I split a chicken wrap and dd ate a fruit cup and some chips...not very good, but did the trick...that night we ate at Biergarten. What fun this was! We love German food and this buffet was delicious! We each had a Francis Conner beer and stuffed ourselves! We would definitely eat here again.

Day 10 started with packing and checking out :guilty: after which we headed to Kona Cafe for breakfast...great breakfast! I had the tonga toast, dh had the steak and eggs and dd had eggs, sausage and cinamon toast...We all had smoothies and dh and I had a presspot of coffee...Yummy breakfast...We were left with 2 table service credits and 1 counter service...but alas, we ran out of time to use them...so we ended up using all of them at the Grand Floridian food court...the food there was actually pretty decent...better than POFQ, for sure...We also brought home a bunch of mickey rice krispie treats for cousins to use up 5 snack credits...

All in all the food was great....the dining plan was well worth the $$ even with my 'sick day' throwing off my plans...There was definitely too much dessert...It would be nice if you could choose a side or salad instead of dessert with the counter service option...and the snack selections were very limited, but for the price, I'm not complaining!

Really enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for posting.

Shame about you getting sick.

Thanks for the wonderful trip report!!

Just a question regarding your dinner at Marrakesh. When you ordered the Royal feast, did they allow you to order another appetizer using the plan? Someone who had lunch there recently had informed that when they ordered the Berber feast, they were allowed to order a seperate appetizer and dessert, eventhough the feast came with Jasmina Salad and fresh fruit. I haven't had anyone who's gone for dinner give me a definitve answer yet so I was hoping you would know.

Thanks so much!! Glad to hear your family had such a wonderful time!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the reviews!! I am still trying to decide if we should do CAGrill this time....

Great report - sounds like you had a wonderful first wdw vacation!!

Nice report. Thank you for the details. Glad you had such a good time..minus the sick day...
:)

Thanks for all of the great info!! Sounds like a great trip! Just one question: You mention coffee several times, with dessert, etc. Was this considered part of the dining plan or did you have to pay extra for the coffee drinks and presspots? TIA!

Thanks for all the wonderful info! Sorry that you were not feeling well.

GREAT REVIEWS! it sounds like you had a great time. i really can't wait to try Marrakesh and Biergarten in january. glad you enjoyed both of them so much! thanks for posting.

wow, thanks for the great detailed reviews... much appreciated... i just cannot imagine getting tired of eating dessert though ;)

i just have to ask... i read thru your report twice and w/the exception of the late EMH and the family magic tour, i don't see where your family spent much time in MK... did you skip it or just not eat there?
