Ok, so "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" wasn't an Oscar worthy movie, but still they could have put his picture up with the other actors who died this year!
This is why I thought they left him out. The show is for the year 2005, not 2006. I assume they have all the clips done long before the show goes on and his passing was a week ago.
Chris Penn--and he passed about a week before Don Knotts--time is not an issue..they have an infinite amount of resources. With a week remaining to the show, they could have gotten footage.
And no John Spencer! (from The West Wing) Granted he was more of a TV star, but he was in movies too. I was shocked they didn't show him, Don Knotts, Darren Mc Gavin or Dennis Weaver, but did show alot of producers, make-up artists, choreographers, ect......not that those people don't deserve to be honored, but so did the actors they left out. I don't get it.

That was weird they had Chris Penn, he died in Jan 06. I thought Oscar ran year to year. Maybe someone pulled some strings. Did'nt Sean Penn win last year?

Christ Penn died January 24, and Don Knotts died February 24, so there was a month inbetween, I think Don Knotts, Dennis Weaver and the other gentleman who died this same weekend will be shown on next years awards.
