We will be in Orlando for a couple of days @ he end of this week. We are only going to MK but would like to see Illuminations if possible w/out entering Epcot. My DD's friend has never been to WDW.

Also, when you buy a 1 day ticket can you re-enter the same park thru out the day? I hope the Columbus day crowds are gone.

There really isn't anywhere outside of the park to truly see Illuminations. Not the whole show anyway. You can see the upper fireworks from the Boardwalk or from the walkway between the Boardwalk and the Beach Club. You can't see the ball or hear the narration, but you can see the upper fireworks. Every now and then someone reports being allowed to enter Epcot through the International Gateway right before Illuminations starts even without using their pass but that's rare. I'm sure it depends on the CM at the gate.

Yes, you can come and go on the same day with that pass, just be sure you get your hand stamped on the way out of the park. :)

I'm with you on hoping the crowds die down! We are leaving Thursday for our trip too. :) Unfortunately, it looks like it's shaping up to be quite busy. we can still hope though!

A good place to watch Illuminations from outside of Epcot would at the bridge between the BC and the Entrance to the International Gateway, and from the Boardwalk.
