I saw Mickey's Mix Magic in 2019 and really disliked it. Didn't particularly like the music, how overwhelming the sound and lights were, and actively disliked the style of animation of the characters. I realize other people love it but it is just not my cup of tea plus the crowds on Main Street can make me feel claustrophobic. So my question is where is everyone's favorite places to watch the fireworks besides Main Street? I did see a youtube video that by chance caught them on in the background while they were in Galaxy's Edge and that looked really cool. I figure there must be other places that are good to watch them from.

When we don't feel like fighting the crowds, our favorite place is by the exit of big thunder. Sometimes we've even timed it so we are on the ride as they start. So fun!

I agree about Mix Magic, it's a chaotic mess on Main St. I guess I just miss the older style shows that build emotion and use more fireworks throughout longer show. I wish they had Mix Magic for bad weather days or off seasons only.

For those who haven't seen it, watch Believe in Holiday Magic on YouTube. Gets me every time. 😭

Mix Magic feels like it was made for TikTok/Instagram generation (and I'm sure huge cost savings for Disney).

My daughter and I once saw fireworks while on Big Thunder and it was absolutely magical. I think that was before Mic Magic though.

A really cool place to watch the fireworks which I discovered by accident one year is by the carousel in Fantasyland. For the fireworks they close Fantasyland rides and put a rope barrier to close the area from the carousel to the Castle.

However what most people don't know is that once the rope barrier goes up, people start waiting in line for Peter Pan for AFTER the fireworks.

The red line on the map is where the rope barrier is.

The yellow star on the map is where the the Peter Pan pre queue starts.

I was first at this pre queue line and this is where I watched the fireworks. Some of the fireworks go off in front of the Castle and some fireworks go off from Toontown, so by being in Fantasyland near the carousel you are actually right in between the two locations.

Obviously you don't see any of the Castle projections or special effects but you do get to see other cool stuff.

Some of the soot from the fireworks is in the air and falls on you.

Some of the bangs are really loud , as you are technically very close to where they are being set off.

You get a really cool view of Tinkerbell flying.

You can see the Fire Marshall inspecting the Castle once the fireworks are over.

And as for the Peter Pan pre queue.

Once The Fire Marshall gives the all clear, the CM's move back into the area and restart the rides. At this point the rope barrier is still up. However, anyone in the Peter Pan pre queue will get escorted into the outdoor queue area of Toads Wild Ride, the area behind the gates.

Then when the rides have all started and are ready to go, everyone for the pre queue Peter Pan will get escorted from Toads Wild Ride area into the proper Peter Pan queue. Once the pre queue people have started snaking through the switchbacks of Peter Pan, the CM's will finally take down the rope barrier and open Fantasyland to everyone.

This was all pre Covid, I think maybe 2019 or 2018, Im not sure which trip I did this on.

For Mix Magic I recommend watching by small world, you will see all the pyro plus the projections. if you just want to watch the pyro I recommend watching in SWGE.

does anyone know if you can see the fireworks from Galaxy’s Edge?

Before Covid, yes. I didn't see them myself from that location but I remember reading loads of reports that they were visible. The CM's would stay in character and talk about seeing a space battle or meteorites or something like that.

If I am in the park, I make sure to watch fireworks where projections would be visible and music can be heard so in order of preference:
1. Castlefront - center to off right
2. Main Street - I generally favor on the street rather than at the train station
3. Rivers of America - if I'm already there for Fantasmic and can't leave
4. Small World

I haven't seen the show enough times yet to try doing Galaxy's Edge yet but I have watched older fireworks shows from the area between the parks, the parking structure, wherever we were in DCA when World of Color ended, and my hotel (Four Points is a good one for this if your room is facing the right direction).
