Where to stop for night near Columbia, SC?

We are looking for some place to stay near Columbia, SC, on our way home from WDW. DH would like to stop when we get off I-26 and back on I-77? It doesn't have to be fancy, just clean and not in a bad area.

there are a ton of hotels when you go through there. I know there is a marriot because we were gonna book it through priceline.

I drive through Columbia all the time. I venture to say that any major brand hotel that is off the freeway would be a safe bet. If you stop a tad farther than I-26, once you are on the I-77, there is a major exit where Ft Jackson is located (sorry, I can't remember the exit number off-hand, but it is still the outskirts of Columbia). There are a lot of stores, restuarants and hotels in this area. We stop here often to eat and find it safe. You can even get gas at the Sam's Club if applicable.
