Where to put water bottles when on a ride?

Planning my first trip to Universal Studios and Island of Adventure. I will be there with my husband and 3 boys. We have to carry an epi-pen for one of the boys, so I will have a small waistpack with that, and I think that is ok to wear on most of the rides. Where do you put backpacks or bottles of water or refillable mugs when you are on a ride?

I just have been to smaller parks like Storyland and Santa's village in NH, and there you just put your backpack and waters on the platform, then get on the ride, and pick them up as you exit. How does it work at Universal?

Thanks!

The rides where you are not able to take bags on will have lockers outside. You scan your park pass to open the locker and to retrieve your stuff afterwards. The lockers are free but they are also small so you have to put your refillable mug in empty and sideways. You can also pay a few dollars for a larger locker.

So on the rides you can take a backpack or bottle of water where do you put them? Are there pockets in the ride like in Disney world? Can you store the backpack by your feet like in DW?

If I remember correctly it was a mix between pouches and putting the bags at your feet. I do know for sure that there were no rides where you have to leave your bags unattended on the ride platform. I was carrying around a bag with a pretty long Harry Potter wand sticking out of the end and didn’t have an issue. Honestly the most annoying thing is having to store the refillable mug sideways in the locker.

You will not be able to bring your fanny pack on rip ride rocket or the hulk. You have to go through a metal detector for those two.

I frankly would try to avoid the back pack, or just plan to put it in a locker.

On rides where you cannot have absolutely nothing on you, those you'll have to put your bags and other items in lockers. A few rides do let you temporarily use lockers without payment (Mummy, Men in Black, Forbidden Journey, Gringotts). They give you enough time to go through the queue, enjoy the ride, and a little extra time (more than likely for shopping, as most rides end up in a gift shop). If the queue is suddenly longer, or there is an issue with a ride, it usually compensates for that. However, if you have any issues getting into your locker you may ask a ride attendant for assistance and explain your situation.

For all other rides, most of them do have a little pouch in front of you. Which should fit a water bottle, maybe a few more small items, or a small bag. However, a few do not have pouches and you'll have to place your items on the floor. However, for example, MIB however has no pouches, nor a place to securely put your bag (however I believe is one of the rides that accepts the waist bags being on you), which is why they offer lockers.

Simpsons is the only ride @ USF in which it suggests you can place your items against the wall before getting into the ride vehicle in their safety video.
