Where to get groceries?

We (4 adults/4 kids) will be at OKW for 6 wonderful nights in June. Since we will have 3 teenagers plus a 10 year old, we want to take advantage of having a full kitchen for breakfast and those never ending snacks that teenagers must have!

We will not have a car, but I do need to get to a grocery store to stock up on food, plus some beer and wine. Where is the best place to go and how would I get there? I am guessing a taxi. What is the cost for a taxi to a nearby grocery store and do we have it wait for us while shopping or get another when we are done?

If you're getting a car service from the airport they will make a grocery stop for you. We always rent a car, though, and stop at Albertsons off the highway coming from the airport. I fax our order ahead of time and then just have to run in and pay for it, and off we go. Not sure how much a taxi would cost to a nearby store, sorry.

Also, search this board for grocery services that deliver right to your room. I know I've seen threads on it, and I don't think it's too expensive. OKW does have a small store where you can get some staple items, but they are expensive.

If you order online from Garden Grocer they will deliver everything to you including the beer and wine.

I've also heard of people using wegoshop.com for grocery delivery. Just don't go to Goody's or Goodings - I hate that place! Publix is good, Super Walmart is good, and so is the Winn-Dixie.

Take a taxi to the Crossroads shopping center. They have a 24 hour supermarket (Goodings). Not too long of a ride. Just take the road that takes you to Downtown Disney, straight shot to the shopping center.

I'll be there in May and rented a car for 1 day specifically to go food shopping when I arrive. It is $24. and to me...well worth it and a taxi couldn't be cheaper..
You can rent from the car rental on the main MK road (just before the kennels) or at the Dolphin Hotel..Alamo and National there.
