Where to get diapers

We cruise on 2/10 and DS is in diapers. We arrive late on 2/9 & are staying at the Radisson (we have a town car service taking us from the airport to the hotel). Is there anywhere to buy diapers within walking distance of the Radisson? Or should I just pack enough for the week?

Have you thought about maybe just shipping a box of diapers to the ship ahead of time? Then you don't have to worry about it, and you don't have to take up luggage space for diapers.

Good idea - I was just reading about that in the FAQ post. I could ship wipes too!

But, what if, for some odd reason my package didn't make it? Is there a place to buy diapers on board?

My personal favorite is the Greatland Target which is 10 minutes from the Rad. There are many options including Wal Mart, CVS, and super markets.

The other poster suggested mailing diapers to the ship which is a pretty good idea if you don't mind paying shipping costs. Basically you address the box to the DCL warehouse (you can get the address from DCL). You write the address c/o name, stateroom, ship name (Magic or Wonder) and date of sailing. I did this last cruise and it worked well. My wife and daughter are portable fan sleepers so I sent two fans.

If you still want to shop before you cruise then go the appropriate retail store website and use the "store locator" option. The zip code for Port Canaveral is 32920

Is there a place to buy diapers on board?

Yes, you can. One of the stores, Treasure Ketch, has a small packs of diapers which you will pay too much for. In an emergency it works in a pinch, but not a good option.

Buying locally or shipping to the warehouse is a much better idea.

Now the closest place to the Radisson to buy diapers is Ractrac which are expensive there and the next closest place will be Publix which is about 2 miles South of the Radisson. I am going to drop a note to Joe P. the GM from the Radisson and see what can be done in a case such as this - maybe he can have someone run you down to Publix - will let you know what he says ok?

If you ship a box and it does not arrive and you are on the western (if I calculated correctly 2/10 should be a western), then you could shop at CVS or Walgreens in Key West for diapers & wipes. Not the cheapest, but probably painless.

We just went flew in to MCO (Orlando Airport) on our our last Disney Cruise. We flew in on Friday on stayed at the Hyatt because we did not know how my DS ( 7 months) was going to travel. At the airport I did not see Pampers Swaddlers Size # 2 in the airport stores. I would say pack before you leave.

I am going to ship a box down w/wipes & diapers & some other things. With a back up plan of shopping in key west if for some odd reason my box does not show up.

Thanks to all for the input!! I pulled my suitcases down from the attic today (at the same time putting the Christmas decorations back up) & I am just so excited!

I packed a mega-pack of diapers and filled my baby wipes container to the top. It lasted our 4-day cruise and then some. The space left from the used diapers was filled with souvenirs, like the other post. I plan on doing the same on our upcoming 7-day cruise. -Jennifer
