In DL? In DCA? DtD? Nearby? Sit down or counter is okay. I've been in the mood for salads lately and we head out tomorrow am. Not my usual Disney fare, so I thought I'd ask the experts.

Pacific Wharf inside of DCA:

Salads
served in a sourdough bread bowl

Newport Incise
Delicate albacore tuna atop a mixture of green beans, new potatoes,
Roma tomatoes, Kalamata olives, hard-boiled egg and romaine
lettuce, accented by a garlic herb dressing
$8.69

Sonoma Chicken & Apple Salad
Tender pieces of chicken breast with tart crisp apples, celery,
and walnuts in a creamy honey dressing with a dash of
lemon, served atop a bed of garden fresh lettuce.
$8.69

San Francisco Shrimp Louie
Chilled bay shrimp on a bed of mixed greens with hard-boiled
egg, tomato wedges, olives and a zesty Louie dressing.
$9.99

Ooh! The Chicken and Apple salad is amazing! ;)

Wine Country Tratoria had some good ones too I remember.

I LOVE SALAD! I agree with the chicken/apple salad at Pacific Warf. Yummy! They have some cheap basic salads at Whitewater Snacks. I'm looking forward to trying the salads at Tratoria in April.

My daughter (24 y/o) had the Chicken Bruchetta Salad & loved it. I can vouch that it was good as well. ;)
(We're a family of "try this".)

I agree with OP's that the salads at Trattoria are TOO DIE FOR! My personal favorite is the Chicken Bruschetta Salad while DH loves the Pizzeta Salad. I don't know what they put in the dressing in the Chicken Brushcetta Salad but it is amazing. I tried to find out what brand it is but they wouldn't tell me. :sad2:

Ok, in CA there is a little counter service place behind and to the right of PT Flea. I can't remember the name of it but they have a really good Chicken Cesear salad. Very simple and straightforward and very good.

We often find ourselves in Tomorrowland around lunch time so we eat at Red Rocketts. I love their Oriental Chicken salad. It is really good. It's not on their menu but they have always had it when we are there. Also have had one a few times called Starfield of Greens, super yummy with candied walnuts, dried cranberries and raisins, blue cheese and tomatoes. No meat on this one, but still filling. I love big salads!:lovestruc

Just had the Starfield of Greens this week... so YUMMY! My favorite kind of salad. Highly recommend it!

For our anniversary dinner DH and I both had the Chicken Brushetta Salad at Wine County Trattoria in DCA. It was delicious and filling! We'd heartily recommend it to others. :lovestruc

The Trattoria has good entree salads. Also, last time I was at Whitewater, they had a yummy chicken salad sandwich and other good, light food.

I realize this may be too late for your trip since you've already left, but I just wanted to add my thoughts. In addition to the great salads at the Pacific Wharf Cafe, Wine Country Trattoria, and Redd Rockett's Pizza Port, here are some other salads I've enjoyed on recent trips (in the past two years):

Rancho del Zocalo (Disneyland Frontierland)
Tostada salad -- "Fajita Style" Beef, Chicken, or Vegetables presented in a Crispy Tortilla Shell with Refried Beans, Chopped Lettuce topped with Cheddar and Jack Cheese. $10.49
(also includes rice)

Plaza Inn (Disneyland Main Street)
Cobb Salad - Fresh tossed mixed greens, with chicken, bacon, egg, tomatoes, and blue cheese dressing $10.49
(note - no avocados)

Carnation Cafe (Disneyland Main Street)
Chef Salad - Smoked turkey, honey ham, Gruyere cheese, atop mixed greens garnished with hard boiled eggs, grape tomatoes, avocado, and Boudin Sourdough croutons. Served with Ranch, Italian, or Raspberry vinaigrette. $9.99
(good, but probably my least favorite of all the salads I've had at Disneyland)

Storyteller's Cafe (Grand Californian Hotel)
Cobb salad - Chicken, Avocado, Bacon, Tomatoes, Eggs and Bleu Cheese Dressing. $11.49

La Brea Bakery Cafe (Downtown Disney)
Cobb salad - Romaine and Iceberg Lettuce, Shredded Chicken, Bacon, Avocado, Blue Cheese, Cooked Egg, Cherry Tomatoes, Chives, and Lemon Vinaigrette. Served with La Brea Bakery Country White. $13.50

Tortilla Jo's (Downtown Disney)
Tostada Salad - Crispy tostada bowl filled with vegetarian black beans, green rice, iceberg lettuce, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. $13.50
-- With grilled chicken $14.95
-- With grilled steak $14.95

Welcome to the board, BlueCruiser. :hippie:

Which Cobb Salad did you prefer (Plaza, Storytellers or La Brea)? The Cobb is my kind of salad.....meat, cheese, eggs, blue cheese & a couple of small pieces of lettuce. :thumbsup2
:lmao:

If DW & I can split a Cobb & a sandwich, we're going to have to put one of those places on our list.

I've had the Cobb Salad at the Plaza Inn a couple of times and it was really good. They will only toss if for you if you have blue cheese dressing otherwise they just put it together and give you the dressing on the side. I like ranch but couldn't get it tossed, that was the only drawback.

Thanks for the welcome! I've been lurking on the DIS for a month or so. Just came back from my sixth trip to DLR (been to WDW 16 times, so I have a lot of work ahead of me to even things out ;) ). Finally bought into DVC this trip, so I'll be spending a lot of time on the DVC boards here until I figure everything out. :surfweb:

Regarding my favorite Cobb salad, all 3 were great; but if forced to choose, I would say it's a tie between La Brea and Storytellers. The only reason Plaza Inn's version is slightly behind is because it has no avocados.

The Plaza "Cobb Salad" is mine and DS 16's favorite. Hint, as stated previously they serve it already pre-mixed with Bleu Cheese dressing. However, my DS loves BC dressing but doesn't like the crumbled BC they put in the salad so he orders it without crumbled BC so they just layer all the ingredients on top of the lettuce just as you would find at most restaurants for a traditional Cobb Salad. However, when you order it this way you get so much more meat and stuff than you would if it were pre mixed. :thumbsup2 Just ask for an extra bowl and you really have a full meal to share.

Plus, get one of their gorgeous deserts to follow and with the atmosphere of The Plaza you really have a wonderful Disneyland dining experience.

Our Second choice is the Chicken Ceasar Salad at Red Rockets.

Now I'm really hungry!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

My wife and I enjoy the house salad at Cafe Orleans. We really like the raspberry vinaigrette and caramelized pecans.

In addition to the salads, I usually get a cup of French onion soup and we split an order of pommes frites. This is a bargain (for Disneyland) lunch for $17.
