I need to get DD a nap mat for preschool and I don't want the plastic kinder-mat kind....I really want a soft one that's a mat with the attached blanket & pillow. But I don't want to spend a fortune. Any suggestions?

I have seen them without the blanket attached in the Lillian Vernon catalog/website.

DD has a quilted mat with an attached blanket and pillow that my SIL got her at JC Penny. It was a few years ago so I don't know if they'd still have them.

I got my son a Cars one at walmart. It's soft and has an attached pillow (but no blanket) it was $14.97. They had all different charaters, cars, spiderman, princesses, etc. Now that school is starting again, they may go quick.

I know this is kind of silly - but JCP is out of the pink one - all they have is frogs. Lillian Vernon has a really cute one...but I really would like to have it all one piece. And I've seen them at Walmart but for the last month we've been looking and not able to find one. I probably just need to expand my search. Any other suggestions? I've found one online but with shipping it's over $30 and it just seems silly to spend that much. Of course they also have them in the $50-$100 range online too :rolleyes1

I've not seen any with attached blanket, but I have seen them at Walmart, K Mart and Target (today). You might check Big Lots as well..

I checked in Target last week - but I'm not sure I was looking in the right place. I looked in bedding and then in school supplies. Where do you usually find them? I hope I'm not just looking in the wrong place - although that would be kind of nice too.

Make sure a cloth one is okay for the preschool. Many preschools require ones that are able to be immediately sanitized in the case of an accident. Our school is regulated be day care regulations. Our mats(we provide) are plastic, and have to be sprayed with a clorox solution when soiled or once a week if they are not soiled. The kids bring crib sheets to cover the mats and blankets and small pillows if they like. It is easy to bag up the bedding, but would be impossible to bag up a whole mat if the child had an accident.

I got one that has a built in pillow and an attached blanket. I got it at Building 19. they were only $9. It was last year though

I got a pink one with a dog-shaped pillow and attached blanket for $12.99 at either Tjmaxx or Marshall 2 years ago, very durable, DD4 still use it.

Our Learning Express store advertised them in their back to school e-mail and said they could be monogrammed. I don't know how much they are, but if you have a Learning Express, you might check them out!

I just saw some today in the Lilly's Kids catalog. They are on-line too. When my dd wqas that age I found one at JCPenney.

If you know someone who can sew... have them make you one. We have one that is hand made and the blanket is bigger than the ones that you can buy (a grandmother made them and sold them for much less than the others and since she could see that the blankets didn't work well, she made them bigger)!

You could put a listing on your local craigslist.com and see if someone would be willing to sew you one. Then you can pick what you want it to look like.
