Where to eat lunch at SSR?

We'll be arriving at 2 PMish, and if we can't get into our room at that time, we figured we'd eat at the resort and hang out until we can get in by 4 PM. If we do get into our room on arrival, we'll probably just head out to EPCOT and eat there.

From what I've read, there are two places to eat at SSR...Turf Club, or Artist's Palette. Which one is best for a quick (but nice) lunch? Turf Club is a lounge, and Artist's Palette is counter service? Is one significantly closer to checkin?

TIA. :)

MaryAnn,

AP and Turf Club are right next to each other, not too far from the check-in building.
I was there in Jan. Didn't go to Turf Club, but ate lunch at AP twice. I enjoyed it. I thought my sandwiches were good and I loved the chips!
It was nice to have something other than a burger (and I love burgers :teeth: ).

Just to clarify, both Artist's Palette and the Turf Club are in the same building as the check-in (Carriage House). :)

If you are looking for a quick bite, AP is probably what you want. They are converting the Turf Club to a full service restaurant that should be ready by this summer.

Hey, thanks!

Now that I've started looking at all this SSR info (we were hoping our waitlist would come through, but it's not looking like it will), I'm getting more and more indecisive about some things, like room requests! But I got the dining options down now. :)Thanks! :thumbsup2

We always try to make one lunch at AP....no matter where we stay. I love the Spinach & Blue Cheese Salad!

Don't forget that DTD is right next door with all of its dining options. We love Earl of Sandwich! And if you think you'll have a couple of hours to wait, it may give you an hour to do some shopping and looking around !

This is exactly what I was going to say. We were wary of trying Earl of Sandwich, but kept going back for more!! Awesome sandwiches :thumbsup2

You can get a nice quick lunch at AP. We were there for 10 days last summer. I think we ate about 5/6 times there. All their meals(B,L & D) were good.

We've eaten at Earl of Sandwich, and really like it there. But I figure if we can't get right into our room on arrival at 2:00ish, I'd like to stick around nearby (hovering over the Front Desk ;)), get something to eat, and perhaps check out the resort a bit so that when we call about our room and it's available, we can get in ASAP. DH is far pickier than I am about food tho, so I thought I'd ask about the Saratoga Springs options here. But who knows where we'll end up! He'll "yes" me until we're actually there and he wants to do something else.
