We will arrive quite late to the resort, 8 or 9pm and will be tired and hungry after our long flight from the UK, can anyone recommend a good place to eat for our first night? The kids will be tired so didnt want to do Yachtsman, will save that till a bit later on in the holiday.

Any suggestions?

If you don't want to walk anywhere, I'd just go to Beaches 'n Cream (in the BC) or Captain's Grille (YC). If you want to walk a little, go around the lake to the Boardwalk to Big River Grille or ESPN.

I would suggest Beaches and Cream or Hurricane Hannah's, but I'm not sure of the hours of the either. The restaurants at the BW do seem to be open quite late though.

Have you considered ordering room service and relaxing? We usually have to travel 22 hours to get to WDW and it's nice to just have a bite in the room and go to bed after such a long trip.

While Beaches & cream might seem like the logical choice since it's so close, this restuarant can be very busy at the time you are looking at going. Hurricane Hannah's is just plain park burgers (hardly good food after a long trip) I would second the PP vote for ESPN just a nice short walk to get you in the Disney spirit and you would be right on Boaldwalk if you felt like walking after dinner. Depending how you feel I also like the idea of room service. Then you can just curl up after dinner fall asleep and be ready to start your Vacation. HTH:)

Beaches and Cream for burgers and such...awesome place, it will def wake you up! If you want a calmer atmosphere the Capts Grill at the YC is very very good

B&C might be a wait but your kids will probably be okay with that when they see the ice cream dessert choices!

I agree with Beaches & Cream being great fun, but it also may be a long wait. Go see what the wait is, if it is too long, go over to Big River Grille.

You can also check Crew's Cup which is the bar attached to Yachtsman...menu varies, but is solid. I think they stop serving food at 10pm.

Some fun options that you may be too tired to try but I thought I'd throw them out there: If you are up for a little walk, we've had great luck over at the cafe/bar part of BlueZoo in the Dolphin, and Kimonos (Japanese and sushi) at the Swan (if it's a weeknight, the karaoke isn't crazy and less loud). Both offer no wait -- fairly quick service. Fun atmosphere. Quick walk back. Menus can be found on swandolphin.com website.
