Where to eat at Portofino?

We would like to spend one evening at the Portofino. It is 4 adults and two children - 9 and 11. If I must say so myself the children are well behaved in fancy restaurants as they have been raised in them so we don't have to avoid nice sit down dinners.

My favourite at Portofino is Sal's Deli. The pizza is wonderful!!!!

Sal's is delicious:goodvibes We also loved Trattoria. We sat outside and the atmosphere was so lovely. The tenors started singing while we ate and it added another layer to the already incredible atmosphere. Honestly, the inside tables looked nice but outside dining is preferred. The food was delicious and portion sizes were generous. Great wine as well:thumbsup2 We have also done room service at PBH which is delicious and best service I have ever had in a hotel. We have never tried Bice or Mama Dellas but I think Mama's and Trattoria share the same kitchen.

I agree with this! Sal's pizza is good.

We weren't impressed with Mama Della's. While the atmosphere was nice, the food wasn't impressive, which I expected for the price.

I've only done Trattoria for breakfast, which was adequate. They sometimes have a pasta buffet in the afternoon/evening for dinner, but I don't know if that's every night.

I haven't done Bice, but would like to someday.

We love Sal's also but that is more like a counter service restaurant to us. Best pizza on site at USO. Trattoria is very good and they often have a special buffet as well as a regular menu. They have the best spaghetti so I always order that off the menu. Mmmm Yummy!! If you are in the mood for a more pricey fancy restaurant, Mama Della's is also very good with a more authentic atmosphere. While we enjoy Mama's we prefer eating at Trattoria in the outside seats.

We went to Bice last year and it was amazing. Also used the restaurant.com cert. which helped with the cost. I would not hesistate to return.

We loved Sal's and ate there several times during our stay - mozz sticks were some of the best we've had (and we've had a lot!), pizza was very good (we're from NY so we have high standards!), and the panini sandwiches were absolutely AMAZING (I'm still dreaming about them!). The pastries were also delicious and on our last day, we got a whole bunch of them packed up to bring to our next hotel with us. The hot chocolate was particularly yummy as well (topped with lots of whipped cream!). Out of everywhere we ate during our 5-night stay at PBH / Universal, Sal's was our favorite.

We ate at Trattoria one night. There were very few people in the restaurant and so we were shocked at how LONG it took to have our order taken and then to get our food. I mean, it was REALLY looooong. I said to my husband that I hoped they were out picking the vegetables and slaughtering a fresh chicken because I couldn't imagine how else it could possibly be taking so long. Fortunately, we were there when the face painter and balloonist was there, so she kept the youngest two entertained. Once the food finally arrived, everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. Unfortunately, we had another loooong wait to get the bill only to realize we had been overcharged. (The kids' meals were supposed to be all inclusive, but we were charged for the all-inclusive meals plus extra for each of the sides and drinks.) They were very nice about it, but again it took a strangely long time for them to ring it up again correctly. Food was fantastic, but I'm not sure we'd go back as a family just because of the crazy long wait for everything. Maybe just me and DH if we were looking for a particularly long-lasting dinner.

So happy you posted this. We got the Bice restaurant.com coupon for our upcoming trip and was worried that maybe we made a mistake, but knowing that others have enjoyed it will make it all the better! Thanks!

We have eaten at Bice before and LOVED it! I got the coupon for our upcoming trip this weekend and am looking forward to eating there again!!

Hi!

I just have a quick question about the restaurant.com certificates please.

We are going to dine at Bice on Feb. 11th. Its a Friday night, are there any restrictions with using the coupons?
I have heard of restaurant.com but never tried it.

Thanks so much for the help. :)
