We loved Sal's and ate there several times during our stay - mozz sticks were some of the best we've had (and we've had a lot!), pizza was very good (we're from NY so we have high standards!), and the panini sandwiches were absolutely AMAZING (I'm still dreaming about them!). The pastries were also delicious and on our last day, we got a whole bunch of them packed up to bring to our next hotel with us. The hot chocolate was particularly yummy as well (topped with lots of whipped cream!). Out of everywhere we ate during our 5-night stay at PBH / Universal, Sal's was our favorite.
We ate at Trattoria one night. There were very few people in the restaurant and so we were shocked at how LONG it took to have our order taken and then to get our food. I mean, it was REALLY looooong. I said to my husband that I hoped they were out picking the vegetables and slaughtering a fresh chicken because I couldn't imagine how else it could possibly be taking so long. Fortunately, we were there when the face painter and balloonist was there, so she kept the youngest two entertained. Once the food finally arrived, everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. Unfortunately, we had another loooong wait to get the bill only to realize we had been overcharged. (The kids' meals were supposed to be all inclusive, but we were charged for the all-inclusive meals plus extra for each of the sides and drinks.) They were very nice about it, but again it took a strangely long time for them to ring it up again correctly. Food was fantastic, but I'm not sure we'd go back as a family just because of the crazy long wait for everything. Maybe just me and DH if we were looking for a particularly long-lasting dinner.
