Where should we stay in CA next summer???

Laguna Beach is great as well - lots of fun shops and great restaurants!

They have somewhat reasonable prices at the Holiday Inn right across from the beach. A lot of the hotels right in Laguna can be pricey at times - but the Holiday Inn is cute and not too too bad.
Just more options for you :)

Kalypso is right! California Screamin is the best roller coaster I have ever been on. Space Mountain is fast, but the other has everything that should be on a roller coaster! ::yes::

The HoJo there near Disney is very good. Nice clean room, very good price, broadband internet access included (if you bring your own computer). Was great when we stayed there last year. Can't beat it for the price and how near to Disney it is.

Mimi's is right accross the way and is very reasonably priced family dining. Love the muffins at Mimi's.

We're doing the same except for 3 nights prior to our 7/9/05 Mexican Cruise. Grand Californian sounds wonderful!

We're on the July 9, 2005 cruise too--and stay 3 nights before the cruise at the Paradise Pier!!! :-)

FOJMO - we have a thread on the Cruise Meets board for the 7/9/05 cruise if you want to drop by.

grumpymom1...what great pictures at your link! It's the first time I've seen a picture of Scoops!

Feel free to ask questions about things in the South Bay area (San Pedro is considered part of the South Bay area of Los Angeles). I live 15 minutes away from the port & am pretty familiar with the stores, restaurants, etc. around the area.

If anyone has a few hours to kill, consider going to the Long Beach aquarium (Aquarium of the Pacific), we're members & my kids (8 & 3) love going to the aquarium.

We are on the June 4th cruise and we are trying to plan our itinerary.....so any input is appreciated.

Right now the plan is to get in on Friday June 3rd, stay somewhere near the port and catch a cab to the port. Any recommendations on a hotel?

Then, after the cruise we are planning on staying at the DL hotel for 3 nights. Should we rent a car, catch a shuttle to the hotel, or use a cab? At least with the rental car we would have a way back to the Airport. Does anyone know if we can rent a car at the port?
