We have so many ideas on where to eat for our DD who is 8. Our DS is 6 and is not so happy with some of our choices (CRT, CP for example) I'm hoping someone knows something fun for a young boy. I'm sure he'll be fine with anything if he's hungry enough, but I'd love to make him smile with something really cool!

Thanks!

If he likes sports, I'd recommend the ESPN Zone at the Disney Boardwalk. Lots of sports memorabilia and huge big screen TVs with sporting events. There are also high-tech video games that make you feel like part of the action. ESPN is easy to get to since you can take the buses for any of the Boardwalk-area hotels (Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin, Yacht/Beach). If you have a car, parking is free at the Boardwalk. It's also a great place to just stroll around if you have some time.

One word of caution, food at ESPN is nothing to write home about. The typical burgers/sandwiches you'd find at TGIF or Ruby Tuesday with the typically inflated Disney prices.

Ill second ESPN if hes a sports fan. My kids are 4 & 7 and they love it. We really enjoy the food. The nachos are my favorite.

How about Chef Mickeys, if hes into the characters? Or Pizza Planet if hes a Toy Story fan. Theres also OHana for some interactive games he can play during the meal.

I would agree with the previous responses, but I also think maybe the Sci Fi at MGM. The theming is GREAT and not so restauranty. Meals come on glow in the dark frisbees (or at least they used to) that your son might love! I think your daughter would really like it too! They also have great 'kid food' and milkshakes and they have fun straws for the drinks. I had a great time and I was 16!

I have two sons. They're a bit older now, but their favorites haven't changed since they were around your son's age. They love Sci Fi Dine-In at MGM, Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK, and Rainforest Cafe at DTD. I thought about dropping RFC from the list for this next visit and was met with pure outrage  so I guess that means they still like it! :teeth: They've talked a lot about how they're looking forward to going back to Sci Fi and Donald's also.

I think Sci Fi at MGM would be great! You get to sit in cars and watch old horror movies while you eat! (Not scary ones) He'll love it!

I agree that Sci-Fi is the best restuarant for your son. On our first trip 3 years ago when my son was 6, this turned out to be his favorite and we have gone every trip since. My son has ADHD and he sat quietly through the whole meal entranced with the movie clips. He also loved eating in the cars. It's the most relaxed meal we have during the trip.

Most of the character meals he liked, but wasn't overly thrilled with the characters. He did like LTT during MNSSHP party, because he thought it was cool that the characters were dressed up. He didn't like CP except for Tigger. He thought CM was O.K. but he had already seen all those characters several times. This trip we are trying 1900 Park Fare for breakfast & hoping that the Mad Hatter makes an apperance (my son can relate with the Mad Hatter/ Crazy & Out of Control :p ).

Definately try Sci-Fi! My boys love this place. Get to eat in a car, watch silly, old sci-fi clips in the dark. The Rainforest Cafe is also one that they have enjoyed. You can't go wrong with the breakfastosaurus at the AK.
:sunny:

I have sons only, their favorites are Sci Fi and ESPN Club. We usually did Chef Mickey too. Liked it when they were your sons age, but once they got to teen-ager hood, they'd get up and get more food when the characters started coming around, that's what DH does too!!! :) Athough, what teen-ager does go for character meals? Sci Fi and ESPN Club have not changed over the years, they still like them both. Haven't been to these two, but going to O'hana's in July where they have coconut races and hoola hoop games. And, when we were at the WL on our way to Artist Point, we heard allot of storytelling and singing coming from Whispering Canyon Cafe.
