Where In The World 21. We are now completely legal!!!

For the first time in years, we cleared ALL the decorations from the garage side of our yard in ONE day! :faint: :faint: :faint: Allie helped about 30 minutes (in exchange for lunch 😁) but David and I spent the better part of the afternoon to complete it! YAY! The LAST thing I want to do this evening is put away more decorations but have to stay on schedule so now on the the middle yard.

I’ll start with Carousel of Progress?

You’ve had a busy day. I don’t like putting Christmas decorations away. šŸ˜•

It was SO hard to get started especially since we normally leave them up until after January 6th but David wanted as much down as possible before our trip. Not attempting to get lights down (but David did get the lights out of the trees on that side of the house today :goodvibes,) they can wait, just spiral trees, yard ornaments, lighted gifts, snowmen, etc. Not touching the indoor ones yet; going to enjoy them after we return. Once I get started I'm okay but just doing "that first thing" :headache: !

I hope everyone’s Christmas break was good.

I was off work from Dec 22- Jan 5 which was nice but it was stressful too

my dad passed away on Dec 11 from Bone Cancer, we are not that close but we did go up and see him 3 days before for a few days. They live about 6 hours drive up north in redneck country lol (its like Texas but with mountains lol )

and then on Dec 22 my mom had a stroke and was in the hospital for 10 hours. Since then she has had several tests and MRI scans and they believe they know what might have caused it, something to do with a blockage in her thyroid gland, which is not now waiting on surgery got. Her vision is not back to 100% yet but she no longer has numbness in her face which is good.

So we are just waiting to see when she will go in for surgery probably some time next week

Besides all that we just spend time with the kids, the weather here has not been good. We never got any snow but we got aloooot of rain so going out has been hard

We are still waiting on Disney to finalize the DVC stuff before we can book out next trip for this year hopefully

So sorry for your loss and so sorry to hear about your mother. Especially so close to the holidays. Glad she got her vision back that’s scary. Hope her surgery goes well.

Oh WOW  ; you have had a rough ... and VERY stressful ... December! I'm so sorry. I think I might have to visit where your Dad lived 😁; Texas with mountains sound perfect for us. We DO have the Davis Mountains and Big Bend on our western border. As I understand, Big Bend especially, is positively beautiful but it's a LONG drive from our section of the State and way to many rattlesnakes and cacti for me to want to visit! I'm so glad you went to visit your Dad for a few days before his passing. It may have been a hard trip but it's "good for your soul"...and his...to have a little time together. As for your Mom...WOW...that was unexpected too! Two months ago, one of my friends (visiting family in Pennsylvania) had a stroke and her recovery has been rough. Her clot was in the brain so surgery was immediate. She's finally back in Texas though and enjoyed holiday festivities. A lot of work ahead for Mom; Lisa's speech was slow to return too but PT worked wonders on her and I know your Mom will work hard on that too. Keep us posted on her impending surgery and keep enjoying those growing kiddos! Been enjoying your "holiday visits" to various displays in Canada! DVC takes time, especially over the Holidays when all "work" slows down but you'll get that trip booked soon. After our visit next week we'll be homebodies for awhile. Allie graduates this May so we'll travel back to Florida for a week to 10 days then. Would love to go to Flower and Garden Festival again; want to travel down to West Palm Beach for a visit with Ed and Toni and Allie's wanted to take us up to San Augustine for ages! Hope you get a chance to book soon; you need to try to visit during the Halloween celebration since you're such a "Halloween nut"! 😁 Hugs to you and your family and best of luck to your Mom on her surgery. :tink:
