We parked at the Contemporary, the guard told us where we should leave the car. It was an easy walk from there. DH, DMom and I loved that tour. Have fun!
We did this in November '03 and it was great. You go to the MK around 7AM, I'm "remembering maybe a bit fuzzy" and you're welcomed to take pictures from the RR station of a deserted Main Street! You hear stories of the engines, of Walt's train, the Carollwood Society, and you get to go on the train, to the roundhouse. DH was asked to be honorary conductor.
You get a very nice souvenir pin, Magic Behind the Steam Trains Tour.
Mom, 83 at the time, and having gone to MNSSHP the night before and we still all thought the early hour wake-up was well worth it!!
We parked in the MK parking lot - right up front - and walked to the TTC.
Unfortunately, they refused to let us board the monorail leaving for the MK, for some reason, and made us wait for the resort monorail.
Then, it proceeded to do its safety tests for the morning - making it the longest monorail trip EVER!!
We finally go there - about 15 minutes late. Fortunately, there were about 3 or 4 other families on there with us....
All we ended up missing was his introduction in front of the station, but I would recommend that you park at the Contemporary, also - if they'll let you!
