Where do you find rain ponchos? (inexpensive)

Hi, the camping section in Walmart also sells clear and cheap ponchos. Joan

I buy the ones from my local Dollar Tree. 2 for $1. I like the fact that they're clear. I wear them, hang them on the shower curtain in the room to dry, fold them the next morning and we're off to the parks again! I've had people stop and ask me where I got the clear ponchos.

K-Mart...they have the dollar ones that are folded up into like a 2X2 inch square....perfect your purse or fanny-pack.

I usually get mine at walmart or the dollar store, too. Remember to put a ziploc bag for each one in everyones fanny pack so that when you are at the park and you take them off you can put the wet ones in it. Then when you are back at the room just shake them out and hang them up to dry.

I bought a bunch from Target when they had them in their dollar section-I think they're more of a seasonal item though. :confused3

Another cheap source is Harbor Freight Tools if you have one in your area. They sell a pack of 3 for $1. The downside is that they are frequently out of stock (at least at my store). Even though I would rather be using them at Disney, we keep them in the car for those times you are caught in a surprise rain shower.

Our Dollar Stores/Trees sell the 2 for $1 packs year round. They are usually near the registers.

Guess we're hard on ponchos, but our $ store ones ripped/were shredded by the rain after a day or 2 in June.

Invested in the yellow WDW ones, have used since.

BTW, DS ripped the snaps on his & they replaced it @ kiosk in MGM free of charge with new white one!

Our Dollar Store ones lasted for 4 days in December and that was even after covering strollers and everything! I would, however, buy a couple extra packs for our next trip (incase of rips or so we could just throw them away at the end of the day.)

Our Target carries Coleman ponchos in the camping section for $.89

They are still small enough to shove in a fanny pack or back pocket, but are more durable than the ones Target carried last Spring in the dollar section.

We use our dollar store ponchos once. Once they are out of the bag and opened up (and used), we throw them out and get out new ones for next time. I just cannot get them folded up in any sort of way that makes it worth it to try and reuse. They ususally end up as big wadded balls in our backpack. Since they are cheap enough, I don't worry about reusing.

Something else, I bought some pullover windbreakers from the Children's Place that fold up into themselves and stuff into the front pocket. We use these on trips when there is a lot of rain or lots of chance of rain. otherwise, we just throw a dollar store poncho into the fanny pack just in case.

I got some last wekend for 49. each at Big Lots. They are the 2" clear ones.

Saw them at Target on Sunday in camping section $.89 a piece. I bought 2 for each family memeber last year and threw them away at end of use.
